Prepaid kaarten zijn welbekend, maar tal vernieuwingen zijn mogelijk. Zo zijn combinaties mogelijk van deze kaarten met stickers om bv. de pincode te verbergen. Momenteel wordt daarvoor een scratch laagje gebruikt. Daaruit volgt een interessant business model, en gerelateerde technologie en netwerkconfiguratie. Er zijn meerdere soorten prepaid kaarten. Een eerste is de solid-state kaart(10, 15)(bv. telefoon SIM-kaart 11) bestaande uit een kunststof (bv. polyester). In het oppervlak is een zone uitdrukbaar (gestanst) waarin een SIM-eenheid zit. Interessant is onsinziens dat er ook tenminste één magnetisch strip zou aangebracht worden die naar een voordeel of prijs verwijst. Dit volgt uit onderhavige aanvraag. Andere prepaid kaarten zijn oplaad-code kaarten (20) die een code geven die via een netwerkconnectie aan de telecom operator wordt doorgestuurd door de gebruiker.

   Vervolgens stuurt de operator een relevant signaal naar het toestel van de gebruiker. De SIM-eenheid wordt dan eenmalig aangepast. De opbel-code kaarten geven per oproep toegang tot een netwerk indien de juiste code wordt gegeven. Prepaid opbelkaarten zijn kaarten waarmee zonder pincode kan gebeld worden (bv. bepaalde MCI kaarten). Al deze kaarten kunnen in ons business model - waarin extra voordelen en merchandising een belangrijke rol spelen - worden gebruikt. Ook barcode-kaarten (bv. parking-kaart) kunnen daarbij gebruikt worden, dwz scratch zones bevatten met extra voordelen of prijzen.

Doch eventueel kunnen de voornoemde oplaad-code kaarten, opbel-code kaarten, opbelkaarten en/ of barcode-kaarten geheel of gedeeltelijk bestaan uit tenminste één bedrukte sticker (21, 23A, 26)(drager 23B plus sticker 23A) waarbij de code (24) en/of voordeel (25) zichtbaar wordt bij het wegnemen van tenminste één deel van het sticker gedeelte. De gebruiker neemt na aankoop de sticker of één of meer delen van de sticker weg en vindt dan de verborgen pin-code en/ of de prijs of voordeel dat hij al dan niet wint.

  
Eventueel wordt tenminste één loterij-type scratch-strip (22) op het kaart-oppervlak gedrukt. Bij het afkrabben van die deklaag komt informatie (bv. boodschap, reeks symbolen, barcode, etc.) vrij over het al dan niet winnen van één of meerdere extra diensten, bonussen, prijzen of geschenken.

   Dit kunnen ondermeer zijn: extra beltegoed, een nieuw prepaid kaart, extra bonus, gratis toegang tot een evenement, gratis verzamelalbum, gratis film-ticket, gratis abonnement, gratis geschenk, gratis reis, gratis rit, gratis maaltijd, gratis drank, extra mileage, gratis CD, gratis download van mp3, gratis aantal SMS's, gratis MMS, gratis streaming video, gratis ringtone, gratis sportclub tune, gratis membership, gratis collectible, gratis merchandising product, extra oplaadcode kaart 26, gratis lotto-deelname, gratis voedingsconserves, gratis extra SIMkaart of duo-kaart, gratis data-kaart, Internet-toegang, gratis mobiele telefoon, reductie op een andere aankoop, deelname aan spaaractie, gratis flash memory kaart, geldprijs, deelname aan tombola, gratis één 0900 nummer connectie, reductie huurprijs DVD, reductie autohuur tarief, etc.).

   Zulk scratch zone kan ook op een sticker gedrukt zijn, wenselijk op een papieren sticker.

  
Met de prepaid kaarten waarover hier sprake wordt het mogelijk om als buitenlander toch toegang te hebben tot nationale 0800en/of 0900 nummers in een ander land dan van waaruit wordt opgeroepen. Een prepaid kaart een combinatie van voorgaanden hebben.

  
De gebruiker zal dus bij aankoop van een prepaid-kaart tegelijk deelnemen aan een kans-wedstrijd zonder dat het hem extra geld kost. De grootte en hoogte van de prijzen en voordelen hangen af van de kostprijzen van de aangeboden diensten en services en vanzelfsprekend van de winstmarges van de telecom operator. Tevens spelen marketing aspecten een grote rol. Hierbij kan de operator ook partners inschakelen die het nuttig achten ook via de prepaid kaarten extra aandacht op hun bedrijvigheid, merk en producten te richten, bv. door gratis geschenken in de kanswedstrijd toe te voegen.

  
Prepaid kaarten kunnen eventueel - naast de verkoop in telefoonwinkels, krantenwinkels en kiosken en andere winkels ook via een verdeelautomaat en/ of Internet kunnen aangekocht worden door gebruikers. Deze prepaid kaarten zijn inzetbaar in tenminste één nieuw - thans onbestaande - business model.

  
Nieuwe types van prepaid solid-state kaarten - traditioneel een telefoon SIM-kaart in creditcard vorm (10) - kunnen ook een andere vorm (15) contourvorm hebben, waarin tenminste twee solid-state eenheden (13) zijn verwerkt, die elk uitdrukbaar (16) zijn. Dit kan eveneens in de traditionele vorm. Het nut van een tweede SIM kan bv. het aanbieden van een electronische sleutel zijn. 

  
Solid-state eenheden kunnen desgewenst in een USB-stick (31) of gelijkaardige memory-drive gestoken worden, en bv. speciale toegang geven tot een specifiek netwerk (bv. loterij, kindernetwerk, beveiligde websites, download websites/netwerk). Dit geeft dan nieuwe types van memory-drives (30) die zijn uitgerust met een toegangssysteem (bv. klep, schuifje, deurtje 32,...etc.) of connectiesysteem - inclusief relevante contactpunten - waarin en/ of waaraan een solid-state (bv. SIM) kan geschoven en/ of gekoppeld worden.

  
Dit geeft dan ook een nieuw businessmodel waarbij in een geblisterde vorm (bv. blister kaart) een geheel van SIM-kaart - al dan niet multi-SIM's - en oplaad-code kaart en/ of opbel-code kaart
- en eventueel samen met een mobiel telefoontoestel en eventueel memory drive, wordt aangeboden in het distributie-keten.

  
De vormgeving van prepaid SIM kaarten kan eveneens een extra promotionele belang hebben. Meer bepaald kunnen het shapedSim-kaarten (15) worden, waarbij de traditionele creditcard vorm wordt vervangen door de contouren van één of meer producten
(bv. hamburger, brood, etc.), licencing figuren (bv. Mickey Mouse, Superman, voetbalspeler, etc.), logo's (bv. Shell, C&A, ING, etc.), kunstwerk (bv. beeld Rodin, etc.), symbool, cijfers, letters, diverse puzzelvormen die eventueel aanlegbaar, verbindbaar en/ of inpasbaar zijn, diverse opbouw constructie onderdelen (bv. verbindbare of klikbare bouwplaatjes), en/ of een andere figuratieve of abstracte vorm. Denk hier hoe het tevens mogelijk is dat een populaire premium - bv. caps of pogs, staande figuurtjes in een prepaidkaart kunnen gestanst worden naast de SIM eenheid of eenheden zelf.

   Zulke premiums kunnen dan ook uitgedrukt worden uit het frame en verzameld worden. Zie figuur 4.

  
Prepaid solid-state kaarten kunnen ook een uitdrukbare SIMeenheid (14) bevatten die een afwijkende buitenvorm heeft dan de traditionele vorm (dewelke rechthoekig met één ontbrekende hoek is, zie tekening 1, detail: 13), en waarbij deze passen in speciale mobiele telefoons - met aangepast intern connectie mechanisme en/ of memory drives. De SIM contour is dan specifiek gemaakt voor een specifiek mobiel communicatie toestel of een special memory drive.

  
Het plaatsen van een SIM eenheid in een speciale memory-drive, kan bv. nuttig zijn om te realiseren dat bij het wegnemen van de SIM het intern geheugen van de solid-state/flash memory niet meer werkt. Memory drives kunnen desgewenst ook geproduceerd worden zodat zij toegankelijk zijn voor één of meerdere specifieke SIM's.

  
Bij de oplaad-code kaarten, opbel-code kaarten, opbelkaarten, barcode kaarten kunnen een aantal identieke of voorafbepaalde symbolen en/ of de pin-code onder één of meerdere sticker delen worden verborgen. Zo kunnen een aantal identieke of voorafbepaalde codes en/ of symbolen onder één of meerdere sticker delen worden verborgen waarbij de juiste volgorde een voordeel geeft, en/ of uitbetaling in natura of cash.

  
Tal van combinaties zijn verder mogelijk, zo kunnen oplaad-code kaarten, opbel-code kaarten, opbelkaarten, bar-code kaarten naast tenminste één scratchzone ook een magnetisch afleestrook hebben, en die magnetisch strook kan allerlei informatie bevatten, zoals een speciale prijs.

  
Op de achterzijde van de sticker, dus op de drager, kan tenminste één vak voorzien zijn voor het invullen van de naam van de gebruiker en/ of telefoonnummer en/ of adres en/ of andere informatie. Dit kan bv. belangrijk zijn om mee te doen aan een tombola. Ik wijs er nog even op dat wij onder de bewoording "Sticker" ook verstaan folie-contact materiaal (bv. stickers zonder kleeflaag) dat bv. op vensters kan geplaatst worden.

  
Wij claimen ook mobiel telefoons en/ of gelijkaardige communicatie toestellen (bv. PDA's, mini-computers, etc.) waarbij enkel specifieke SIM-eenheden met een speciale buitenvorm (14) kunnen geplaatst worden.

  
In bv. krantenwinkels en supermarkten staan momenteel steeds meer electronisch netwerk printertjes die oplaad-codes op een papieren strip afdrukken. Zulke oplaad-code en/ of opbel-code die via een netwerk printer wordt afgedrukt (bv. netwerk drukunit in krantenwinkel, supermarkt, tankstation, kiosk of verkoopspunt), kunnen op de afdrukstrook of afdrukticket, eveneens een gratis voordeel, geschenk of prijs vermelden en/ of een barcode afgedrukken die een mogelijk gratis voordeel, geschenk of prijs inhoudt (bv. barcode afleesbaar bij een supermarkt);

  
Tot slot merken wij op dat prepaid solid-state kaarten zoals een telefoon SIM-kaart in creditcard vorm of andere vorm, ook tenminste twee SIM-eenheden met van elkaar verschillende buitencontour (17) kunnen bevatten, elk al dan niet uitdrukbaar.
