[0011] Cette disposition, dite ségrégation verticale, facilite l'allumage et l'agglomération de la partie supérieure de la charge, plus riche en combustible;
But de 1 ' invention
le mélange de matières (1) comprenant essentiellement des granules (ici à titre d'exemple, les granules sont formés de minerais de fer et de poussier de coke et/ou de charbon) qui constituent l'essentiel de la charge finale (5) déposée sur la bande d'agglomération (2) ; une trémie (3) de chargement contenant le mélange des matières (1) précité; un rouleau répartiteur (4) qui distribue le mélange des matières (1) en vue de former la charge finale (5) ; des structures de chargement ayant pour rôle de réceptionner, conduire et orienter le flux des matières chargées, principalement formées de surfaces portantes des matières qui sont essentiellement planes, qui sont appelées dans la suite de l'exposé "supports inclinés" (Pi, P2, P3, P4) de chargement du mélange des matières (1), lesquels sont équipés de différents moyens d'action sur le flux des matières;
(1) s'écoulent sous forme d'un flux (6) vers la bande d'agglomération (2), est essentiellement caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte au moins les opérations suivantes: on dépose le flux (6) des matières (1) constitué de granules sur un support incliné (PI); on soumet le flux (6) des matières (1) précité sur le support incliné (PI) à l'action d'un fluide sous pression qui est projeté vers et au travers du flux (6) des matières précité, opération appelée soufflage;
on contrôle les paramètres définissant les conditions du soufflage de manière à obtenir une ségrégation granulométrique au sein du flux (6) des matières soumis au soufflage et ce de manière à obtenir une concentration plus élevée de particules de plus grosse taille près du support incliné (PI) ; ladite ségrégation étant due à un déplacement des particules au sein des matières traitées qui est fonction de leur taille et de leur masse; on divise ensuite la couche formée par le flux (6) des matières, après apparition d'une ségrégation granulometrique, en deux couches distinctes, opération appelée séparation en deux couches, l'une dite inférieure (7) et l'autre dite supérieure (8), la couche inférieure (7) contenant une plus grande proportion en masse de particules de plus grosse taille que la couche supérieure (8) ;
on dépose la couche inférieure (7) sur la bande (2) d'agglomération, de préférence cette dernière est déjà recouverte d'une couche (R) de protection laquelle est en général constituée d'aggloméré de granulométrie appropriée, par exemple de taille allant de 15 à 25mm; on récupère la couche supérieure (8) issue de la précédente séparation sur un support incliné (P2) situé en aval du support incliné (PI) par rapport au sens de déplacement de la bande (2);
[0027] On dépose la couche supérieure (8) .sur la charge déjà présente sur la bande (2) si la comparaison précédente montre que la couche (8) satisfait en terme de distribution granulometrique au critère prédéfini pour être déposée sur la bande (2);
dans le cas contraire, on effectue une séparation en deux couches et un dépôt sur la bande (2) de la couche inférieure et un traitement de la couche supérieure sur un autre support incliné sis en aval comme déjà effectué dans le contexte du flux de matières (6) sur le support incliné (PI);
[0032] Suivant une modalité préférentielle de mise en oeuvre du procédé de contrôle de la distribution des matières granulaires, objet de la présente invention, on canalise un flux (6) de matières, éventuellement après passage sur un rouleau répartiteur (4), vers un support incliné (PI) ; on soumet le flux (6) de matières à un soufflage selon une ou plusieurs directions sur une longueur (Ll) du support incliné (PI) telle qu'une ségrégation granulometrique apparaisse au sein de la couche formée par le flux (6) des matières suivant au moins une des directions de soufflage précitées;
<(>Pi<)>;
on effectue une séparation de la couche supérieure (8) en deux couches dites couche inférieure (9) et couche supérieure (10) , préférentiellement de manière telle que le rapport entre le débit massique de la couche inférieure (9) et le débit massique de la . couche supérieure (10) soit compris entre 30% et 70%; on dépose la couche inférieure (9) sur la couche (7) précédemment déposée sur la bande (2); on récupère la couche supérieure (10) sur un troisième support incliné (P3) , situé en aval de la bande (2) par rapport au support incliné (P2); on soumet la couche supérieure (10) sur le support incliné (P3) à un soufflage sur une longueur (L3) telle qu'une ségrégation granulometrique apparaisse en son sein de manière analogue à ce qui s'est produit pour les couches précédentes (6) et (8) sur les autres supports inclinés (PI) et (P2);
on effectue une séparation de la couche supérieure (10) en deux couches dites couche inférieure (11) et couche supérieure (12), préférentiellement de manière telle que le débit massique de la couche inférieure (11) et le débit massique de la couche supérieure (12) soient égaux à 50% près; on dépose la couche inférieure (11) sur la bande (2) sur les deux autres couches (7) et (9) déjà y présentes; on récupère la couche supérieure (12) sur un support incliné (P4), situé en aval de la bande (2) par rapport au support incliné (P3) ; on soumet la couche supérieure (12) sur le.support incliné (P4) à un soufflage sur une longueur (L4) telle qu'une ségrégation granulometrique apparaisse en son sein de manière analogue à ce qui s'est produit pour les couches précédentes (6), (8) et (10) sur les autres supports inclinés (PI), (P2) et (P3) ;
préférentiellement d'inclinaison sur l'horizontale telle que API >= AP2 >= AP3 >=AP4; en ce que chaque support incliné respectivement (PI) , (P2), (P3) , (P4), comporte au moins un moyen respectivement (FI), (F2), (F3) , (F4) pour projeter un fluide sous pression vers et au travers des couches de matières (1) précitées, respectivement (6), (8), (10), (12);
METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS
GRANULARS WHEN LOADING AN AGGLOMERATION BAND
OF ORES AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION
Object of the invention
The present invention relates to a method for controlling the distribution of granular materials during the loading of an ore agglomeration strip and allows in particular to ensure both vertical and transverse grain size segregation within the materials deposited on the strip agglomeration.
The invention also relates to a new device for implementing the method of controlling the distribution of granular materials during the loading of an agglomeration band of ores.
Field of application and state of the art [0003] The preferred field of application of the invention is the agglomeration of iron ores.
The following description will make more specific reference but it goes without saying that the invention is also applicable to the agglomeration of other ores, and even other materials, capable of being treated in similar conditions to those encountered in the agglomeration of iron ores.
[0005] The process of agglomeration on iron ore bands has been known for a long time and is widespread in the world.
It consists essentially of depositing on a mobile band a charge consisting, for the most part, of a mixture of iron ores and fuel, usually coke breeze or coal, to ignite this charge at its upper surface. and aspirating air through the charge to advance combustion over the entire thickness of the layer formed by the load on the web.
At the end of the operation, an agglomerated cake is obtained which, after crushing and screening, constitutes a quality load for the blast furnace.
In the case of the agglomeration of iron ores, the materials loaded on an agglomeration strip usually consist of a mixture of granules of different sizes, for example ranging in size from "less than 2 mm" to "more than 8mm ", each granule containing mainly ore particles and fuel particles.
In general, large granules have a lower proportion of fuel than small granules.
Experience has shown that it is advantageous to have the fine fraction of the mixture in the upper part of the layer of materials deposited on the agglomeration band and the largest fraction in the lower part of this same layer. .
This provision, said vertical segregation, facilitates ignition and agglomeration of the upper part of the load, richer in fuel;
it also improves the gas permeability of the rest of the load by increasing its vacuum index, which increases the productivity of the strip.
In addition, it has been found that it is often desirable to also perform a so-called transverse segregation of the load which consists in producing, according to the width of the strip, a different distribution of the particle size of the charged materials located in the same plane perpendicular to the direction of movement of the strip.
The transverse segregation aims to overcome a lack of homogeneity of combustion reactions in the same plane perpendicular to the direction of movement of the strip, said heterogeneity in the combustion can lead to an irregular quality of the sinter produced.
This lack of transverse homogeneity in the combustion can result in particular from a greater permeability of the load and higher heat losses in the lateral areas of the load remote from the center of the strip.
Currently, the load to be agglomerated is generally deposited on the strip by means of a feed hopper provided, at its lower outlet orifice, a roller called distributor which ensures the distribution of the load over the width of the band.
A blade is disposed transversely across the width of the strip and equalizes in height the total layer of deposited materials.
All of the above loading means, which is installed above the initial portion of the strip, does not act effectively on the vertical segregation, or possibly transverse,
within the charge.
Given the problems listed above and seen a continuing desire to improve the productivity of iron ore agglomeration bands, many systems have been developed to ensure vertical and / or transverse segregation of materials during their deposit on the agglomeration band but at present these systems are unsatisfactory in industrial applications because they are either complex and expensive, or poor performance.
Purpose of the invention
The present invention makes it possible to achieve in a conventional loading installation of an iron ore agglomeration band a simple and effective control of both vertical and transverse segregation of the materials at the moment when they are deposited on the surface. bandaged,
said control method for improving the productivity of the agglomeration process and obtaining a more homogeneous end product.
The present invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method of controlling the distribution of granular materials by ensuring both vertical and transverse particle size segregation of the charge deposited on an iron ore agglomeration strip. .
Presentation of the invention
The single figure schematically illustrates the method of controlling the loading of an agglomeration strip, object of the present invention. In this figure, there are:
the mixture of materials (1) essentially comprising granules (here, for example, the granules are formed of iron ores and coke breeze and / or coal) which constitute the bulk of the final charge (5) deposited on the agglomeration band (2); a hopper (3) for loading containing the mixture of materials (1) above; a distributing roll (4) which distributes the mixture of the materials (1) to form the final charge (5); loading structures whose function is to receive, conduct and orient the flow of the charged materials, mainly formed of bearing surfaces of materials which are essentially flat, which are called in the following the "inclined supports" (Pi, P2, P3, P4) of the mixture of materials (1), which are equipped with different means of action on the flow of materials;
and finally various accessories, for example a blade
(L) of equalizing the layer formed on the strip, here a blade that scrapes and equalizes the deposited material.
According to the present invention, a method for controlling the distribution of granular materials (1) during the loading of an agglomeration band (2) of ores, in which the materials
(1) flow in the form of a stream (6) to the agglomeration band (2), is essentially characterized in that it comprises at least the following operations: the material stream (6) is deposited ( 1) consisting of granules on an inclined support (PI); subjecting the flow (6) of the aforementioned materials (1) on the inclined support (PI) to the action of a pressurized fluid which is projected towards and through the flow (6) of the aforementioned materials, operation called blow molding;
the parameters defining the conditions of the blowing are controlled so as to obtain a granulometric segregation within the flow (6) of the materials subjected to blowing, so as to obtain a higher concentration of larger particles near the inclined support (PI ); said segregation being due to a displacement of the particles within the treated materials which is a function of their size and mass; the layer formed by the flow (6) of the materials is then divided, after appearance of a granulometric segregation, into two distinct layers, an operation called separation in two layers, the so-called lower (7) and the so-called upper ( 8), the lower layer (7) containing a larger proportion by mass of particles of larger size than the upper layer (8);
the lower layer (7) is deposited on the agglomeration strip (2), preferably the latter is already covered with a protective layer (R) which generally consists of agglomerates of appropriate particle size, for example size ranging from 15 to 25mm; recovering the upper layer (8) from the previous separation on an inclined support (P2) located downstream of the inclined support (PI) relative to the direction of movement of the strip (2);
the above-mentioned upper layer (8) is blown onto the inclined support (P2) in order to obtain a higher concentration of larger particles near the inclined support (P2) in the context of an operation. similar to that performed previously on the stream (6) deposited on the inclined support (Pi).
In the context of the present invention, the parameters defining the flow conditions of the fluid under pressure, ensuring the blowing operation, are mainly the pressure, the direction, the flow and the spatial distribution of the jets.
The method makes it possible to carry out a granulometric segregation in the layer loaded on an agglomeration band and the degree of segregation can be increased by repeating the basic operation,
that is to say a blowing followed by a separation in two layers, and this according to the chemical composition and the particle size distribution of the initial material (1) loaded on the strip.
In the aforementioned context, a way of proceeding consists in defining a granulometric composition criterion and in comparing the granulometric distribution obtained after blowing within layer (8) to the predefined criterion, the latter being a function of the type of initial materials. (1) loaded on the tape (2).
The upper layer (8) is deposited on the load already present on the strip (2) if the preceding comparison shows that the layer (8) satisfies in terms of particle size distribution to the predefined criterion to be deposited on the strip ( 2);
in the opposite case, a separation into two layers and a deposition on the strip (2) of the lower layer and a treatment of the upper layer on another inclined support located downstream as already carried out in the context of the flow of materials (6) on the inclined support (PI);
all the operations ending when the layer compared to the predefined criterion is able to be deposited on top of the layers already present on the strip (2) agglomeration.
According to yet another embodiment of the method for controlling the distribution of granular materials, which is the subject of the present invention, the position, along a transverse axis with respect to the strip, of the fluid projection means is defined. above mentioned implemented in the blowing operation and is modified according to the position considered the blowing conditions to obtain differentiated segregation of the load over the width of the strip.
This modality therefore makes it possible to carry out both a vertical granulometric segregation, that is to say a distribution of the granules according to their different size along a vertical axis,
transverse particle segregation, that is to say a distribution of the granules according to their different size along a horizontal axis and perpendicular to the direction of movement of the strip.
By applying the method, object of the present invention, it is possible to operate in the final layer (5) deposited on the strip (2) a vertical segregation in combination with a transverse segregation. This procedure for constituting the load of an agglomeration band, where vertical and / or transverse segregation is controlled, makes it possible to adjust the energy inputs as much as possible in accordance with local needs and has the effect of to increase the homogeneity of the final product obtained while ensuring a better use of the energy means used.
According to a preferred embodiment of the method for controlling the distribution of granular materials, which is the subject of the present invention, a stream (6) of materials is channeled, possibly after passing over a distributing roll (4), towards an inclined support (PI); subjecting the flow (6) of materials to blow in one or more directions along a length (Ll) of the inclined support (PI) such that a granulometric segregation occurs within the layer formed by the flow (6) of the materials following at least one of the aforementioned blowing directions;
a separation of the layer formed by the flow (6) into two layers, said lower layer (7) and upper layer (8), preferably in such a way that the ratio between the mass flow rate of the lower layer (7) and the mass flow rate of the upper layer (8) is between 10% and 50%; the lower layer (7) is then deposited on the strip
(2); recovering the upper layer (8) on another inclined support (P2), located downstream of the strip (2) relative to the inclined support (PI); the upper layer (8) is subjected on the inclined support (P2) to blowing along a length (L2) such that granulometric segregation occurs within it in a manner similar to that which has occurred for the layer formed by the flow (6) on the inclined support
<(> Pi <)>;
a separation of the upper layer (8) into two layers, said lower layer (9) and upper layer (10), preferably in such a way that the ratio between the mass flow rate of the lower layer (9) and the mass flow rate of the . upper layer (10) is between 30% and 70%; depositing the lower layer (9) on the layer (7) previously deposited on the strip (2); recovering the upper layer (10) on a third inclined support (P3), located downstream of the strip (2) relative to the inclined support (P2); the upper layer (10) is subjected on the inclined support (P3) to blowing along a length (L3) such that granulometric segregation occurs within it in a manner similar to that which has occurred for the previous layers (6). ) and (8) on the other inclined supports (PI) and (P2);
a separation of the upper layer (10) into two layers, said lower layer (11) and upper layer (12), preferably in such a way that the mass flow of the lower layer (11) and the mass flow of the upper layer (12) are equal to 50%; depositing the lower layer (11) on the strip (2) on the other two layers (7) and (9) already present there; recovering the upper layer (12) on an inclined support (P4), located downstream of the strip (2) relative to the inclined support (P3); the upper layer (12) is subjected on the inclined support (P4) to blowing along a length (L4) such that granulometric segregation appears therein in a manner similar to that which occurred for the preceding layers ( 6), (8) and (10) on the other inclined supports (PI), (P2) and (P3);
depositing the layer (12), after appearance of a granulometric segregation within it, on the strip
(2) on top of other layers already present
(7), (9) and (11), preferably a scraping operation is carried out on the last deposited layer (12) via means (L) in order to level the top of the final load (5) present on the strip ( 2) Agglomeration.
The number of inclined supports used depends in particular on the amount of material to be treated, the initial particle size distribution and the desired segregation.
According to another preferred embodiment of the method for controlling the distribution of granular materials, object of the present invention is deposited on the upper surface of the agglomeration strip, after each two-layer separation operation. ,

A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the single figure. It distinguishes the materials (1) to be treated stored in a hopper (3), an agglomeration band (2) which moves in the direction indicated by the arrow and on which is already deposited a protective layer ( R).
In current practice, this protective layer (R) is composed of particle size 15 to 25mm and allows to form a base layer which on the one hand, supports the loaded materials and on the other hand, protects the bars constituting the band (2) agglomeration against possible overheating of the materials and a bonding thereof on the bars.
The granular material extracted from the hopper (3) loading is discharged by the spreader roller (4) on a first inclined support (PI) forming an inclination angle (API) on the horizontal between 45 [deg .] and 85 [deg.] and which directs them downstream of the band (2).
This inclined support (PI) is provided in its upper part with means (Fl) provided with orifices which allow an injection of a fluid under pressure, here pressurized air supplied via the pipe (T) and distributed via the lines (Tl), (T2), (T3), (T4) in the moving material layers, respectively (6), (8), (10), (12).
This air injection has the effect of removing the smaller granules of the inclined support, while leaving the larger granules in contact with or near it.
It is considered that the particle size of the materials (1)
loaded initials is characterized by its median size that is to say by the dimension such that 50% by weight of the granules constituting the materials (1) have a size greater than this dimension.
As an indication, in the case of an agglomeration operation of iron ores and in the case of the inclined support (PI), the lower layer (7) comprises at least 60% by weight of granules having a size greater than the predefined median size of the flow (6) of the materials (1).
The flow (6) of materials, after treatment with the fluid under pressure, is then subdivided into two layers, the lower one (7) and the other upper one (8), the ratio between the mass flow rate of the lower layer (7) and the mass flow rate of the upper layer (8) being of the order of 30%, the operation of sharing the flow (6) in two layers, respectively (7) and (8),
being performed by any appropriate means (13), here a blade.
The lower layer (7) of materials, which is in contact with the inclined support (PI), flows freely thereon and falls on the agglomeration strip (2) where it forms on the layer of protection (R) a first layer of materials containing a small mass proportion of small granules and a large mass proportion of large granules.
The upper layer (8) of materials is recovered on a second inclined support (P2), located downstream of the inclined support (PI), forming an inclination angle (AP2) on the horizontal between 42 [deg .] and 82 [deg.] and which directs the layer (8) to an area further downstream of the strip (2).
This second inclined support (P2) is also provided in its upper part with means (F2)
provided with orifices which allow an injection of a fluid under pressure, in this case air under pressure, into the layer
(8) moving materials.
This air injection has the effect of removing the smaller granules of the inclined support (P2), while leaving the largest residual granules in contact with or near it.
Then, the layer (8) forming the flow of treated materials on the inclined support (P2) is in turn subdivided into two layers, one lower (9) and the other upper (10), the ratio between the mass flow rate of the lower layer (9) and the mass flow rate of the upper layer (10) being of the order of 50%.
As an indication, in the case of an agglomeration operation of iron ores and in the case of the inclined support (P2), the lower layer (9)
comprises at least 60% by weight of granules having a size greater than the median size of the granules forming the layer (8).
The lower layer (9) of materials, which is in contact with the inclined support (P2), flows freely thereon and falls on the agglomeration band (2) where it forms on the layer ( 7) previously deposited a layer of materials of smaller particle size than that of the layer below and therefore containing a higher proportion by mass of small granules than in the lower layer.
The upper layer (10) of materials is recovered on a third inclined support (P3), located downstream of the inclined support (P2), forming an inclination angle (AP3) on the horizontal between 36 [deg. .] and
76 [deg.] And which directs the layer (10) to an area further downstream of the strip (2)
.
This third inclined support (P3) is also provided in its upper part with means (F3) provided with orifices which allow an injection of a fluid under pressure, in this case air under pressure, into the layer (10). ) moving materials.
This injection of air has the effect of removing the smaller granules of the inclined support (P3), while leaving the largest residual granules in contact with or near it.
Then, the layer (10) forming the flow of treated materials on the inclined support (P3) is in turn subdivided into two layers, one lower (11) and the other upper (12), the ratio between the mass flow rate of the lower layer (11) and the mass flow rate of the upper layer (12) being of the order of 100%.
As an indication, in the case of an agglomeration operation of iron ores and in the case of the inclined support (P3), the lower layer (11) comprises at least 60% by weight of granules having a size greater than the median size of the granules forming the layer (10).
The lower layer (11) of materials, which is in contact with the inclined support (P3), flows freely thereon and falls on the agglomeration strip (2) where it forms on the layer ( 9) previously deposited a layer of materials of smaller particle size than that of the layer below and therefore containing a higher proportion by mass of small granules than in the lower layer.
The upper layer (12) of materials is recovered on a fourth inclined support (P4), located downstream of the inclined support (P3),
forming an angle of inclination (AP4) on the horizontal between 27 [deg.] and 67 [deg.] and which directs the layer (12) to an area further downstream of the strip (2). This fourth inclined support (P4) is also provided in its upper part with means (F4) provided with orifices which allow an injection of a pressurized fluid, here pressurized air, into the layer
(12) moving materials.
This air injection has the effect of removing the smaller granules of the inclined support (P4), while leaving the largest residual granules in contact with or near it.
Then, after treatment by the means (F4), said layer (12) which is in contact with the inclined support (P4), flows freely thereon and falls on the agglomeration band (2) where it forms on the layer
(11)
previously deposited a layer of materials having a granulometric segregation within it and which has a smaller particle size than that of the layer below, thus containing a higher proportion by mass of small granules than in the lower layer.
The device described above progressively operates a concentration of "small granules" in the top of the flow of flow material and successively forms on the agglomeration band layers of material of decreasing average size. that is, layers which contain an increasing mass proportion of "small granules" and a decreasing mass proportion of "large granules".
By the way,
the final charge obtained has the additional characteristic that the different layers are more permeable because of more homogeneous particle size.
The method of controlling the distribution of granular materials during the loading of an agglomeration band of ores, object of the present invention, ensures segregation both vertical and transverse within the materials deposited on the strip. agglomeration and has the effect of improving the quality of the agglomerate, reducing energy consumption, including fuel, and increasing the overall productivity of the iron ore agglomeration facilities or any other material treated in a similar manner.
In addition, the device described above for its implementation has the significant advantage of being easily incorporated into existing conventional facilities for a reasonable cost.
