Abstract
The subject of this invention relates to purely uniformly diffused light-diffusing, purely transparency-based, atmospheric outdoor lighting fixtures that can be attached to external walls and have a distinct decorative and artistic character. The luminaires function fully autonomously electrically, and the built-in power supply can be recharged by exposure to sunlight, in particular through the use of solar cells. The light fitting is characterized by the integration of all elements into two units coupled by a joint (3). In the first unit (1), attached to external walls, there are all parts except the solar cells. In the second unit (2), spatially orientable by means of; the joint, there are one or more solar cells (10). The invention is characterized by the exclusive use of stained glass windows or stained glass windows or compositions of transparent plastics as a transparent element in the light fitting (9). The lighting is completely indirect, due to the placement of the light points within the frame of the luminaire.

Beschrijving
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Description
An electrically autonomous lighting unit mounted on exterior walls for decorative and artistic mood lighting based on transparency The technical field to which this invention relates is the solar-powered electrically rechargeable, fully autonomously functioning outdoor lighting, more particularly garden lighting and the lighting of exterior walls and external environments of buildings (including religious buildings).
The general advantage of these outdoor luminaires is that they are completely autonomous from an electrical point of view, so they do not need to use a power supply connected to the electricity grid (with or without a transformer), so that they can be freely placed outside and possibly moved afterwards without any problems.
The state of the art is that the aforementioned electrically autonomously functioning outdoor lighting elements have been effectively commercialized, but that these lighting elements are directed almost exclusively to functional and light-dissipating functional lighting elements that direct, for example, illuminate a garden path, garage driveway, facade or garden element .
There are also commercialized light fixtures that diffuse a more or less diffuse light, but all of these fixtures do not have a pronounced decorative or artistic character and, due to their specific and non-adaptable design, fit only with a certain architectural style of garden and / or home.
Current market and technology do not provide for purely diffuse light diffusing, purely transparency based, atmospheric light fixtures, with a pronounced decorative and artistic character, which function fully electrically autonomously and are suitable for use in gardens and the outside environments of buildings.
The technical issue to which this invention pertains is how one can apply atmospheric light fixtures, with uniformly illuminated, purely transparency based surfaces, with artistic drawing, to the exterior walls of buildings, mainly focused on the decorative, non-functional aspect, without this, possibly having to provide wall-piercing, power supplies, so that these luminaires can easily merge optimally with the architecture of a building.
This invention provides an answer to the aforementioned technical problem by: - The integration into the light fixture of a power supply rechargeable by exposure to sunlight.
- The integration of solar cells in an optimally orientable unit that is connected via a joint to the luminaire attached to the wall, in which the transparent surfaces with an artistic drawing are incorporated. Thus, a non-ideal t. o.v. the sun-oriented outer wall can nevertheless be provided with such a light fitting.
- Integration of reflectors and / or diffusers in the luminaire, which optimally distributes the light from the low-power light points (high-intensity LEDs or halogen lights), so that an observer observes a uniformly illuminated transparent surface from every point of view.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
- Integration of the light points in the frame of the luminaire, so that no direct observation of these light points by the observer is possible.
Description. The invention consists of two units coupled by means of a joint (3). The joint allows a rotation about the vertical axis, and in addition an additional degree of freedom can be provided around a horizontal axis.
The first unit is a fixture (frame) (1) which can be attached to an outer wall and which contains the following elements: one or more rechargeable batteries (4), a printed circuit board with control electronics (consisting of transistors, diodes and resistors including a twilight switch ( LDR) (5), one or more light elements (halogen lamps or high intensity LEDs) (6), one or more reflectors and / or diffusers (7), an on / off switch (8), one or more transparent surfaces with an artistic drawing (9).
The transparent surfaces with artistic drawing (9) can consist of stained glass windows and / or stained glass windows or surfaces of imitation stained glass and / or imitation stained glass. Can also consist of compositions of transparent surfaces with plastics.
The second unit is a unit (2) in which a number of solar cells (10) are included.
A second, alternative embodiment of this invention relates to the embodiment in which the rechargeable batteries (4) and / or the printed circuit board with control electronics (5) are not integrated in the luminaire, but form part of the unit (2), in which the solar cells are also integrated to be.
Possible methods of implementation (not restrictive).
Possible embodiments of the housing attached to the outer wall are: -the housing with four transparent surfaces (1 vertical transparent frontal surface and 2 vertical transparent lateral side surfaces perpendicular thereto, and 1 horizontal transparent top surface) -the housing with three transparent surfaces (1 vertical transparent frontal surface and 2 vertical transparent lateral side surfaces perpendicular thereto) -the housing with a single frontal vertical transparent surface (only this embodiment is illustrated in the patent application by means of drawings)
