<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

The present invention relates to a system for receiving and removing packages and to a box adapted to this system designed to be installed outside a dwelling or a building.
It is well known that modern life increasingly leads to the delivery and withdrawal of goods at specific points, for example the domicile of a person. The recent introduction of the Internet and electronic commerce accentuates this phenomenon. Indeed, the goods being ordered and paid for via the internet, all that remains is to make their physical deliveries. The disappearance of small neighborhood businesses is also a factor favoring home delivery. In addition, people are no longer willing to stay in a specific place for an indefinite period only to await these deliveries.
The postal services and the companies of transport and taking and delivery of mail are brought to distribute or remove in Europe several billion parcels of all sizes, (small) packages and large mail each year. When the recipient is absent, the delivery man who does not have the key to the recipient's building or the key to his mailbox can neither deposit nor remove the package, the (small) package or the mail of large dimensions.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In terms of management, the delivery guarantee makes it possible to have many more packages shipped, which provides a significant gain in terms of productivity. For example, a plumber may have the parts they need shipped rather than spending their time picking them up from a wholesaler themselves.
The deliverer, in order to be able to deliver or pick up the package, (small) package or large mail, should be able to have a key allowing access to a place agreed with the recipient. However, this is not possible: he should have the key to the building of each recipient.
The object of the present invention is to overcome these difficulties by proposing a delivery system and a housing adapted to this system.
The boxes offered are of all sizes, receivers and / or deliverers of packages, (small) packages and large format mail, fitted with a door whose opening is authorized by a lock process or a solenoid controlled by a code keypad. , boxes which can be associated with functions for receiving mail, doorbell support and / or doorphone and video support.
The invention relates inter alia to a housing intended to receive, in place of the recipient or in his absence, and or to deliver in place of or in the absence of the sender, parcels, (small) packages and mail large format, fitted with a door, the opening of which is authorized by a locked and unlocked lock, for example by a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
solenoid controlled by a code keypad. As mentioned, this box can be of any size, from a volume of 0.03 m3 to the volume of a container.
This box can be associated with various functions for receiving mail, doorbell support, doorphone support and video and control of an electrical device, such as a motor, an electromagnet, a photocell, a infrared or radio receiver. This box can be placed against a wall, placed on a foot or on a base or even enclosed in masonry.
The object of the invention is therefore in particular to allow the delivery or removal of packages, (small) packages or large mail to an absent recipient through a box whose opening is not authorized by a KEY lock (usual key or magnetic card) but by a lock controlled by a code keypad.
The code, provided by the recipient to the sender and transmitted to the delivery person, will allow the latter to open the recipient's case, to deposit or remove the parcel, the (small) package or the mail from large dimensions and close the box, without anyone else having the code being able to access it.
Preferably, the code can be easily changed and its validity will be of a fixed duration. At the limit of each delivery operation is associated a specific code. According to a variant, several codes can be validated simultaneously.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The deliverers avoid the significant costs caused by a vain displacement, the return, the storage, the management, and the additional delivery of the consignments. They can deliver or pick up regardless of customer schedules, for example, they can deliver or pick up at night, which provides many benefits.
Recipients and senders have the assurance of receiving or sending their shipment. They thus avoid being blocked at the destination or shipping address while waiting for the delivery person, delays in delivery, costs and lost time to receive or pick up their shipment. Senders avoid all relationship problems as well as the costs incurred by delay, non-delivery and / or return of the shipment.
According to one embodiment, the box includes various electronic elements (keyboard for entering the code, display for displaying messages, changing the code, electronic opening, door phone and / or video door phone).
The housing according to the invention can be located at a great distance from the building, up to more than 150 meters. The box will therefore be supplied by a connection comprising a wire and account should be taken of the voltage drop.
According to one aspect of the invention and by way of example this problem is solved by adopting a 24Vac transformer (card 95 / AA / 01).
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
It is indeed necessary, over a distance of 5 to 150 m, without modifying the section of the cable, to transport a voltage allowing the creation of 24 Vdc, power supply necessary for the proper functioning of the keypad, using a regulator of the UA7824 series.
Vdc = (Vac * / 2), this voltage corresponds to the theoretical voltage that we should find at the output of the bridge (PDI) if there was no voltage drop in the cable. Note that a UA78xx series regulator works correctly if the input voltage is 2.5V higher than the output voltage.
Vdc = (24Vac * / 2) -1, 4 Vdc = 32.54Vdc if there was no voltage drop in the cable.
Calculation of the voltage drop for a 150m cable (2 wires of 0.32mm2) and a current of 250mA: R = (r * L) / s = (0.017Wmm2 / m * 300m) 10.32mm2 = 15 , 94 W.
Voltage drop = R * 1 = 15, 94W * 250mA = 3.99 Vac, Vdc at the regulator input becomes: ((24Vac-3, 99Vac) * / 2) -l, 4Vdc = 26.9 Vdc, which is 2.9 Vdc higher than the output of the regulator. Still by way of example, a capacitor C1 is proposed (SYMCTRL1 card). The function of this capacitor is to absorb the voltage drop which occurs when the electromagnet is switched on and thus allow the code keypad to function correctly.
Fig. 1 illustrates a box 1 on 4 feet 7 with a "letter box" compartment with conventional lock 2, an identification panel 8, a door intercom 3 and a keyboard 4 giving access to the interior compartment 5 by opening
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
of a door 6. The upper face 9 of the housing is inclined forward and extends beyond the front face partially protecting the latter from bad weather.
Examples of electronic diagrams are given in the appendix (fig. 2 and 3). It describes the power supply, the keyboard, the coil, the intercom with the connections to the building.
The invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment and obviously includes the many obvious variations that can be envisaged by those skilled in the art.
