Doelmatig is genoemd blok minstens gedeeltelijk nagenoeg wigvormig.

is.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
blok rustende apparaat.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
vertonen.

Aid for recording and projection devices, in particular film cameras.
The invention relates to an aid for orienting optical recording and projection devices, such as film cameras or film and slide projectors.
When shooting movies, it may sometimes be necessary to place the camera at a certain angle of inclination. To accomplish this, the camera is usually supported in a point on a fixed base such as on the ground or on a table while held in the correct orientation.
In this way, it is often difficult to keep the camera in a stable and accurate position, especially if this position has to be maintained for a relatively long time or when filming has to be done from a difficult position, for instance from the ground or close to the ground.
The object of the invention is to solve this not unimportant problem and makes it possible to make film recordings in which the camera can be held in the correct orientation, without disturbing vibrations or vibrations, and this for relatively long periods even from difficult positions.
In addition, the invention offers the possibility to apply small angle corrections or angle variations from a starting position during recordings or projections, while it is always ensured that this starting position can be taken back.

For this purpose, a support has been developed which mainly consists of a block with a surface on which an optical device can rest in an inclined position and which at least partly consists of an elastic material such that it remains virtually undeformed under the weight of the device to be supported and elastically deforms under a force greater than the weight of this device.
The said block is expediently at least partly substantially wedge-shaped.
Advantageously, said wedge has at least one side with successive steps.
According to a special embodiment of the invention, said steps are parallel to the bearing surface of the wedge.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, said steps have chamfered (stair) noses that lie in the same plane.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the surface of the block, on which the optical device is to rest, has an elevation which is at least partly cylindrical
EMI2.1
is.
In a preferred embodiment, the surface on which an optical device is to rest exhibits anti-slip properties.
In yet another embodiment, the surface on which an optical device is to rest is ribbed.
Other particularities and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of some specific embodiments of the invention; this description is only like
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
given as an example and does not limit the scope of the protection sought; the reference numbers used hereinafter refer to the attached figures.
Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of an optical device support.
Figure 2 is a schematic representation, in a first position, of the support of Figure 1 with a camera.
Figure 3 is a schematic representation, in a second position, of the support of Figure 1 with a camera.
Figure 4 is a schematic representation, in a third position, of the support of Figure 1 with a camera.
In the different figures, like reference numerals refer to like elements.
The embodiment of the support according to the invention proposed in figure 1 consists of a block 1 in the form of a wedge which has a longitudinal section in the form of a right-angled triangle. The inclined plane of the wedge, according to its longitudinal direction, has a series of successive steps 2 which are parallel to the horizontal boundary surface 3 or bearing surface of the wedge.
Furthermore, the steps 2 have chamfered stair noses 5, which all lie in the same oblique plane 5 '.
This block 1 consists of an elastic or semi-elastic material which is such that it remains substantially undeformed under the weight of the device 6 to be supported, but deforms elastically when a certain pressure force is exerted on it
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
block resting device. This makes it possible, during recording or projection, to make small orientation corrections or orientation variations, which may allow to realize special effects.
It is thus possible to gradually tilt the camera 6 clockwise or counterclockwise t. o. the longitudinal direction of the support by exerting an appropriate pressing force on the camera 6, whereby undesired vibrations are minimized partly due to the damping properties of the elastic material. it is also possible by. exert a compressive force in the direction indicated by the arrow 7 to obtain variations in the inclination of the camera 6 as a result of the elastic deformation of the support 1.
The anti-slip properties and the ribbed steps 2 ensure that the camera 6 does not shift when riveted and remains on the step 2.
In addition, this material preferably exhibits anti-slip properties. This material can thus consist of an elastomer, in particular natural or synthetic rubber, such as polyurethane.
In the proposed embodiment, the surface of the steps 2 is provided with ridges 2 'along its longitudinal direction, thus improving the anti-slip properties.
Figure 2 schematically shows a possible way of using the support from figure 1. The camera 6 rests on one side on a step 2 of the support and on the other side on the surface on which the support is placed. By placing the camera 6 one step 2 higher or lower, the orientation of the camera 6 can be adjusted step by step.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Figure 3 shows how the support from figure 1 can be used in another way.
The plane of the beveled stair noses 5 is used here as a support surface and the camera 6 rests on one side on the plane of the support which forms the sharpest angle with the plane of the beveled stair noses. This surface on which the camera rests has anti-slip properties. In this way, the inclination of the optical device can be continuously controlled.
In figure 4, yet another possibility is indicated for the use of the support proposed in figure 1, namely that in which the smallest rectangular interface is used as support for the support. The camera here rests on one side on the support in an analogous manner as shown in figure 1.
In a specific embodiment of the invention, which is mainly intended for use with a camera, the support 1 has a height A between 5 and 7 cm, preferably about 6 cm and the width B of this support is between 7.5. and 8.5 cm, preferably about 8 cm. The width C of the steps is of the order of 1.5 to 2.5 cm and preferably about 2 cm. The height D is between 0.7 and 1.3 cm, preferably about 1 cm. The length E of the support in the longitudinal direction is between 11 and 13 cm, preferably it is about 12 cm.
The invention is of course in no way limited to the embodiment described above and proposed in the figures.
Thus, the block that makes up the support can have very different shapes and sizes
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
exhibit. For example, the surface on which the device should rest may be cylindrical or the steps may be omitted.
If filming is required under a relatively small upward slope, use can be made of the support in the position according to figure 2, wherein the camera rests with a front foot on a step 2.
