Abstract

The invention relates to a greenhouse comprising windows that can be independently moved between the closed and open position by using a two extending rods of an operating mechanism, and which also have no metal edging frame on either sloping sides or on the lower side. Such greenhouses are known. The purpose of this is to prevent a loss of light by removing the frames round the glass. To this end, metal hinge supports are attached to the glass plate by means of bolts that go through holes drilled in the glass plate. The purpose of the invention is to improve the greenhouse, in such a way that more light is obtained through the exclusion of a number of window frames, that the windows are also made less expensive due to the elimination of frames around the panes and that the danger of broken windows is reduced. To this end, at least one window is given at least two hinge supports that are attached some distance apart and that can be rotated using the appropriate extending rod and are attached to the glass plate of the window with glue.

  WARENHUIS

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Figuur 1 een perspectivisch aanzicht van een fraktie van een warenhuis ;
Figuur 2 op grotere schaal detail II van figuur   1 ;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  DEPARTMENT STORE
The invention relates to a department store, comprising windows each of which is movable between an open and a closed window position by means of at least two extension rods of an operating mechanism and each comprising a glass plate which has no metal edge profile on both its sloping sides and on its underside.

   Such a department store is known from FR-A-2 614 638 and aims to have little light removed by window profiles, which is very important in this regard.

  Hinge supports are attached to the glass plate by means of bolts that protrude through holes drilled in the glass plate. Drilling holes in a glass plate is a difficult and expensive task. In addition, such holes and the use of bolts through them cause local stresses that cause breakage of the glass plate.

   The object of the invention is to improve the department store in such a way that light gain is obtained by avoiding some window edge profiles, that the windows become less expensive due to the absence of window edge profiles and that the risk of window breakage is reduced.

  To this end, at least one window, at least two spaced apart hinge supports, which are each pivotally coupled with an associated expansion rod, are glued to the glass plate of the window.

   It should be noted that in EP-A-89. 202701. 2 of the applicant has proposed to have a bottom window edge profile grip around a glass plate and to glue it to it. Obviously, there is then the possibility of large adhesive surfaces and the window edge profile which grips around the glass edge transfers the tensile forces of the expansion rods to the window by the flange of this window edge profile hooking behind the glass plate edge.

   The invention provides the insight that with a

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 adhesive layer between the underside of the glass plate and the hinge support, even with a small adhesive surface, sufficient adhesion can be realized with certainty to withstand the strong and jerking tensile forces exerted on the window by wind.

   The invention will be elucidated in the following description with reference to a drawing. In the drawing represent:
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a fraction of a department store;
Figure 2 on a larger scale detail II of figure 1;
Figure 3 is a variant of Figure 2.

   The department store 1 according to the invention comprises columns 2, trusses 3, gutters 4, ridge profiles 5 and windows 6 carried by columns 2, each of which can be moved between a closed and an open position by means of two extension rods 7 of a window operating mechanism 8. The expansion rods 7 are hingedly attached on the one hand to a control rod 9 common to a series of windows 6 and on the other hand to associated hinge supports 11 glued to each other at the glass plate 10 of the window 6. The hinge supports 11 can each be made of a U-shaped piece of metal or plastic material, in which the expansion rod 7 engages and is attached thereto by means of a hinge bolt 14.

   According to Figure 3, the hinge supports 11 are T-shaped and the extension rods 7 engage on one or two sides thereof.

   The adhesive used is a U-V resistant adhesive, for example the commercially available adhesive Unilak (R) F246. It appears to be strong enough for this purpose with an adhesive surface of a few cm2, for example 5 cm2.

   The windows 6 are mounted only at their top edge 31 in a window edge profile 32, which seals the top edge 31 relative to the ridge profile 5 and which can pivot around the top flange 34 of the ridge profile 5 by means of a hinge flange 33.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   The glass plate 10 is glued into the window edge profile 32.

   The glass plate 10 is closed in the closed position with respect to rods 36 and a calf 37 by means of sealing strips 38 incorporated therein.

   Each window 6 is preferably enclosed by clamping pieces 39 clamped on the ridge profile 5.
