"Flower box" The invention presented below relates to a cylindrical flower box for mounting on flat roofs or in similar places used for planting, railings, ornaments, etc. and composed of a long element with semi-circular section.
Flower boxes of this type are, from an aesthetic point of view, very attractive and have a shape capable of supporting heavy weights, in particular as regards relatively large flower boxes.
Planters of this type have been used to a large extent at the edges of terraces, for example on roof terraces or on terraced houses. Until now, these flower boxes have generally been produced in reinforced concrete and therefore weighed very heavy and were expensive to produce and assemble.
For the reasons mentioned above, it was desirable to produce these flower boxes in lighter materials, for example plastic. However, in order for the tubs produced from this material to be rigid enough, a certain thickness is required, which will cause an unacceptable high cost. The objective of this invention is therefore to describe a cylindrical flower box like the one presented in the introduction which is not expensive to produce, which is light and does not require professionals for mounting, even if the box is relatively large. .
You will find below a description of the production method, as well as a preferable system for mounting this type of flower box.
This is obtained, according to the invention, by the production of a flower box which meets the characteristics stipulated by object No. 1 of the patent applied for.
The dependent objects 2 and 3 of the patent applied for specify the additional characteristics acquired.
A mounting system for a flower box, particularly preferable for mounting on an inclined plane, is stipulated by object No. 4 of the patent applied for.

The subject: n J of the patent applied for specifies the method of production of a cylindrical flower box.
As already mentioned above, these flower boxes are inexpensive to produce and are lightweight. In addition, they have a beautiful appearance. This is explained by the fact that the long element with a quasi-semicircular section is composed of a gutter-shaped pipe with transverse grooves. Even if the thickness of the walls is remarkably small, such an element has a very high transverse rigidity compared to the length. When this long element is closed at its ends by spherical semicircular pieces, the flower box will have the capacity to support heavy weights. These parts, as well as the pipe are sold on the free market of plastics.
The attachment system according to the invention is simple and inexpensive and could easily be installed by non-professionals. Thanks to a bolt, an adjustable support is mounted to adjust the position of the flower box to a horizontal level, even on an inclined plane.
The gutter-shaped pipe could be produced from a cylindrical grooved pipe, preferably PVC, only by cutting it along two diametrically opposite generating lines. Since these pipes are produced and sold on the free market in large quantities for other uses, the price is relatively low.
The invention will be described below in detail according to the attached illustrations.

The flower box 1 comprises a gutter-shaped element 2, preferably made of plastic, of quasi-semicircular section and with transverse grooves 3. As mentioned above, this half-cylinder 3 is produced from a cut grooved pipe along two diametrically opposite generating lines. Its ends 4 and 5 are semi-circular and spherical. Along the side edges 6,7 of the half-cylinder, tubes 8, 9 open lengthwise are fixed by through nails 10. Before filling the flower box 1 with humus 11, the bottom of the half-cylinder is covered with a layer of drainage elements 12, for example balls of expanded clay soil, which will then fill the grooves, and, after watering, the water will remain there.
A single abundant watering is enough to provide enough humidity for flowers without regular watering for long periods, for example during the holidays.
The mounting of a cylindrical flower box on an inclined plane, for example on a roof 13 in connection with a flat roof
EMI3.1
14, cf. fig. n 5, is easily carried out using a hanging system according to fig. n 4, comprising a number of steel flanges 15 fixed to the outer lateral edge 7 of the half-cylinder, for example by the through nail 10. The flange 15 follows one of the grooves 3 of the tube and is attached to the other side of the half-cylinder by a through nail 16. One end of the flange 15 is attached to a fixed construction element 17 by a screw 18. Crossing the bottom of the half-cylinder and the flange 15, a screw thread bolt 19 is insert ensuring the fixing of the clamp and the adjustment of the height and the adjustment of the flower box relative to the inclined plane 17.
Fig. n 6 shows a special assembly 20 for supporting the flower box to be mounted on a flat surface comprising two or more X-shaped elements 21, for example composed of square tubes. These elements are assembled by an iron bracket 22 and bolts 23, according to the details in FIG. n 6.
