Titel : Turbine-boorinrichting.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Fig. 1 is een schematisch langsdoorsnede-aanzicht van de turbine-boorinrichting ; fig.
EMI4.1

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
In fig.

Title: Turbine drilling rig.
The invention relates to a tunnel boring device provided with a drill head connected to a flexible tube, which comprises a cylindrical body and a nose which is movable relative to it, which has an inclined repelling surface on one side and which is provided with a nozzle with a leading end with a supply line for fluid under pressure extending through the body and the nose, the nose being rotatable relative to the body about the axis thereof for adjusting the position of the repulsion surface and thereby adjusting the drilling direction, as known from the Belgian patent 906.079, in particular fig. 7.
Such devices are used, among other things, for drilling tunnels for so-called utility pipes to be laid in a substantially horizontal direction. Pressurized fluid is ejected from the nozzle and clears the ground for the chuck so that the chuck can be pushed forward under the ground. It is clear that in this context drilling means any kind of making a hole in the ground without necessarily involving a rotary drill bit and the like. In fact, a tunnel is made by spraying and / or displacing the soil.
When drilling with a non-rotating nose in this way, the known drill head describes a bend, in principle according to a circular arc, the center of which is located on the side of the head facing away from the repulsion surface. This is the result of the action of the repulsion surface in combination with the ejection of fluid eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the drill head.
By adjusting the rotational position of the impact face, the direction of the drill can be adjusted to b. v. bypass obstacles.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
For straight drilling with the known head, the nose thereof must be rotated at a high rate to eliminate the directing effect of the impact surface.
In the known drilling device, no provisions are present for this.
The object of the invention is a drilling device of the type described in the preamble, with which, controlled by selective supply of fluid from the ground level, via the flexible tube, the angle position of the repulsion surface can be adjusted and with nose adjusted in this angle position, according to a curved path and can be drilled with a straight rotating nose in a straight path.
To this end, according to the invention, the nose is rotatably or blockably rotatable and axially slidable, by means of fluid pressure-controlled operating means, between a retracted position in which the nose is located within an end pipe piece with a cutting edge attached to the drill pipe, and an advanced position in which the nose is nose protrudes beyond the cutting edge.
According to the invention, the fluid pressure-controlled operating means can comprise an assembly of a hydraulic jack with an axially displaceable and rotatable piston rod and a turbine means, wherein a turbine shaft is coupled on the one hand with the piston rod and on the other hand with the nose, by means of the auger is extendable and retractable with respect to an end tube piece connected to the cylindrical body.
With the drilling device according to the invention, by selective supply of operating fluid to the auger, the nose can be pushed so far outside the end tube piece that the inclined repelling surface lies outside the end tube piece and furthermore the nose cannot rotate due to a rotation blocking of the auger. When fluid is supplied to the nozzle of the nose, drilling is carried out in the direction determined by the rotational position of the impact surface,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
according to the operation of the drilling device according to fig. 7 of the Belgian patent 906,079.
The drilling direction is changed by unlocking the auger, selectively supplying operating fluid so that the piston rod retracts the nose within the end tube and the nose is rotated through the turbine shaft by a small angle, after which the nose is extended again, the auger in the direction of rotation is blocked and drilling in the new direction can be continued.
In order to make these measures possible, the jack according to the invention is provided with several fluid inputs, which connect to means for sliding the piston rod forward and backward, to means for revolving the piston rod and to means for blocking the piston rod .
According to the invention the auger can herein be provided with detection means for the axial and rotational position of the piston rod, b. v. in the form of Hall sensors that interact with magnets, encoders or radio transmitters.
For straight drilling, the nose can be withdrawn into the end tube section using the auger and, after unblocking the rotation of the piston rod, fluid under pressure can be supplied to the turbine means, causing the turbine shaft (not blocked) through the auger-piston rod coupled thereto, the nose rotates at a rapid rate as fluid exits the nozzle and loosens the ground for the drill bit in a zone symmetrical to the drill bit axis. The repulsion surface is located within the end tube section and is therefore ineffective as a deflector or aiming means.
According to the invention, the turbine means can be designed as a worm pump, provided with a shaft with a helical profile which is enclosed by a counter-helical profile, formed in a rubber or the like
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
elastically formed liner of a sliding sleeve received in the end tube, with a fluid channel extending through the shaft to the nozzle feed channel.
The shaft and therefore the nose is rotated by axial fluid supply to the screw pump. In addition, the worm pump shaft, at least the fluid channel extending therein, can extend eccentrically in the end pipe piece and connect to the feed channel of the nozzle at an acute angle crossing the longitudinal axis of the drill head, so that the thrust pressure of fluid fed through the feed channel at high pressure causes the nose.
In a variant embodiment of the turbine means, this is provided with a central nose drive shaft around which a cylindrical body is arranged in which, in circumferential direction, a number of channels extend at an acute angle intersecting.
To illustrate the invention, with reference to the drawing, some embodiments of the turbine drilling device will be described.
Fig. 1 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of the turbine drilling device; Fig. 2 is a schematic side view of a variant embodiment of the turbine means; and Fig. 3 is a sectional view according to the arrow III-III in Fig. 2.
According to the drawing, the turbine drilling device is provided with a drill bit 1 which is attached to the end of a flexible drill pipe 2 which can be rolled from the ground level and which can be slid into the ground.
The drill bit 1 is provided with an end pipe piece 3 which can be screwed onto the drill pipe 2 and ends in a sharp, hardened cutting edge 4.
In the position shown in fig. 1 is inside
EMI4.1
- the end pipe piece 3 has a nose 5 with at least one nozzle
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
6 which is fed by a supply channel 7. The nose
5 is of the type shown in FIG. 7 of the
Belgian patent 906,079 and can therefore be equipped with position detecting means, obstacle signaling means and the like, as described in said Belgian patent.
The nose 5 is alloyed in the end tube piece 3 by means of a sliding turning surface 8 and is coupled by means of a screw connection 9 to a worm pump shaft 10 which has a helical outer configuration. A fluid channel
11 with an input 12 extends straight through the shaft 10 and connects to the input of the supply channel
7 in the nose 5. The shaft 10 runs eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the head 1 and is coupled at the rear via a sleeve 13 and a locking pin 14 to the end of the driving rod 15 which in turn is connected via a universal coupling 16 is coupled to the piston rod 17 of a hydraulic jack or the like drive unit 18. The jack 18 has a plurality of fluid inputs 19, 20, 21 for rotating, reciprocating, sliding and reciprocating arrangements arranged in the jack 18 and blocking the piston rod
17.
For the eccentric shaft 10 with the helical configuration to be alloyed, in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, use is made of a sliding sleeve 22 movable within the end pipe piece 3, which has a flexible rubber liner 23 on the inside with a profile such that complementary to the helical profile of the shaft 10 is that the latter is constantly supported during rotation.
A supply line 24 for high-pressure fluid is further connected to the auger 18.
The drilling device shown in Fig. 1 works as follows: In the illustrated position, in which the nose 5 is retracted behind the cutting edge 4 and the slant repels
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
surface 25 is not in contact with the surrounding earth, it can be drilled straight, but the piston rod 17 can be freely rotated through targeted fluid supply via the connections 19-21. By supplying high pressure fluid through the conduit 24, the interior of the casing 2, the inlet 12 and the straight fluid channel 11 to the feed channel 7 of the nozzle 6 of the nose 5, the fluid sprays from the nozzle and is caused by the eccentric inclined direction of the feed channel 7 also a rapid rotation of the nose 5.
Rotation of the nose 5 in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 is also effected by the axial fluid supply worm pump assembly of the shaft 10 with helical outer configuration and the liner 23 including shaft 10 with counter-helical configuration. The ground for the cutting edge 4 is loosened and the drill head 1 can be pushed forward by applying pressure to the flexible drill pipe 2. In order to avoid dirt penetration around the nose 5 in the end tube section 3, radial leakage channels 26 are provided in the downstream end of the shaft 10, which allow fluid to circulate the nose 5 and keep the sliding / rotating surface 8 clean.
When on a straight drilled path a curved path must follow, the fluid supply via the inlet 24 is stopped and, by supplying fluid via one of the inlets 19-21, the piston rod 17 and finally the nose 5 are turned by a limited angle, such that the repulsion surface 25 facing away from the desired direction of deflection. Because this adjustment is carried out with the repulsion surface 25 within the end tube piece 3, it is possible to set very accurately because resistance of soil on the moving repulsion surface 25 is lacking. Subsequently, rotation of the piston rod 17 is blocked by fluid supply via another of the connections 19-21 and the piston rod 17 is pushed forward.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
The shaft 10 and the sliding bush 22 with the rubber liner 23 are thereby carried along and the nose 5 is pushed outwards beyond the end pipe piece 3. When fluid is again supplied under high pressure via the inlet 24 to the auger, the drill head describes a bend in the same manner as the drill head according to Fig. 7 of the Belgian patent 906. 079. At the end of the bend section, the nose 7 is retracted , the rotation lock in the auger 18 is released and drilling can be done straight ahead again with the rotating nose.
Figures 2 and 3 show a turbine in which the nose 5 can be rotated in a manner other than that described previously. The turbine 27 consists of a central shaft 28 which can be coupled to the driving rod 15 on the one hand and to the nose 5 on the other. A cylindrical body 29 is arranged around the axis 28, in which a number of channels 30 are located which cross the axis 28 at an acute angle. When fluid flows through the channels 30, the cylinder rotates and the nose 5 is entrained in rotation via the shaft 28.
In the illustrated embodiment, provisions have been made at the auger 18 for observing the spatial position of the nose 5 from ground level, such as a marking 31 on the piston rod 17, which marking is in the form of a wave pattern, while amplitude measuring coils 32 via electrical conductors 33 are connected to ground level.
It is clear that the invention is not limited to the described embodiments, but that various modifications are possible within the scope of the invention.
