Abstract

Organopolysiloxanes containing SiC-bonded organic radicals which contain basic nitrogen are prepared by reacting, in a 1st step, a silane of the formula YSi(CH3)x(OR<1>)3-x in which the R<1> radicals are identical or different alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms per radical, and Y is a monovalent, SiC-bonded organic radical containing basic nitrogen, and/or a partial hydrolysate of a silane of this type, with an organo(poly)siloxane of the formula R3SiO(SiR2O)nSiR3 in which the R radicals are identical or different, monovalent, optionally fluorinated hydrocarbon radicals, and n is 0 or an integer having a value of from 1 to 100, in amounts of from 0.1 to 10 parts by weight per part by weight of the total amount of silane of the abovementioned formula and partial hydrolysate of a silane of this type, in the presence of a basic catalyst and in the absence of water, and, in a 2nd step, reacting the organopolysiloxane obtained in the 1st step with water in order to hydrolyse groups of the formula -OR<1> in which R<1> is as defined above, simultaneously and/or subsequently condensing the silanol groups formed during this hydrolysis with one another, and freeing the resultant product from alkanol and water, and if desired, in a 3rd step, reacting the product present after completion of the 2nd step with a cyclic organopolysiloxane of the formula (R2SiO)m in which R is as defined above, and m is an integer having a value of from 3 to 12, and/or an organopolysiloxane of the formula R3SiO(SiR2O)pSiR3 in which R is as defined above, and p is 0 or an integer having a value of at least 1, in the presence of a basic catalyst.
