Abstract
The invention relates to a support plate for receiving sample particles in an orderly manner. The inventive support plate (1) has cavities (11) which have a shape and size that allow a defined and predefinable number of sample particles (2) to be received. Each cavity is associated with a projection (32) which is provided with an opening (31) and the opening (31) has a diameter which substantially correponds to the diameter of the particles (2). The geometries of said cavities are preferably formed in such a way that said cavities can receive a maximum number of particles (2) when particulate material is poured and rubbed in. The particles (2) are held in the cavities (11) by the projection (32) and/or by the configuration of the cavity floor, cavity walls and/or the position of the particles (2) in said cavities (11).
