Abstract

A light signalling system has a signal safeguarding and evaluation module in a node control unit and a plurality of peripheral lamp switches and sensors designated as POSITIVE modules, pedestrian pushbuttons, vehicle detectors and associated data transmitters and receivers, as well as transformers and rectifiers for associated signal generators with signalling lamps on respective signalling poles, it being possible to connect the node control unit to the modules using a power and data line. With a mains-independent diagnosis unit which is provided for this purpose, the individual modules and the lamps, connected thereto, and other elements can be completely tested directly on the signalling pole with respect to their operativeness and the correct wiring, connection to the node control unit not being required. After the connection of the individual modules to the node control unit, the connection from the node control unit to the modules and the amber flashing function for the roads for which forward travel is not authorised is tested, the diagnosis unit being connected to the node control unit and the addresses of all the modules being identified and displayed. Afterwards, the individual modules are tested with reference to a position plan by entering module type and address.
