Abstract

In the method a number of installation devices (4, 6a, 6b) communicate with each other via a communication line (8) by means of communication signals (K). At least one of said installation devices (4, 6a, 6b) has a decentralized power supply unit (5) to provide electrical power for another installation device (4, 6a, 6b) via the communication line (8). The attenuation in communication signal (K) caused by the decentralized power supply is kept to a minimum by means of an automatic or remotely controlled reduction in supply.
