Description

Australia Patents Act 1990 Complete Specification Standard Patent Always Sharp, Mower ad Slasher, Cutting Blade The following statement is a fullU description of the invention, induding the best method of performing it known to me: Compiled By: Inventor applicant, HarryDale, Box 467, Traralgon, Victoria 3844.
Invented by Harry Dale P.O. Box 467 Traralgon Victoria Phone 03 51746078 Name of the Patent Always Sharp, Mower ad Slasher:- Cutting Blade 'Patent applied for the entirely new method of cutting grass or other small folage, instead of cutting with the lat of the blade, this blade cuts in a vertical or angledposition." Fig.1 Shows a normal blade with turned up edge to throw the grass clear and into a catcher, also the off-set, to allow for the depth of the blade.. With an "Ever Sharp Blade "fitted. Fig2.
Description Looks like a normal blade for any mower or slasher, on closer inspection it will be noticed the blade is formed with a cutting blade.Fg.1 Page 3.
Difference The Cutting Blade is formed by folding a portion of the Blade down at a 450 angle to the ground Page 3.
Size of Blades The Cut of a normal size mower is approximately 400mm (16 inches) the length of the cutter Blade is 10% of the cut width, (e.g 40mm long.) Cutting Action When the cutting blade comes in contact with the grass to be mown, the grass is supported by the 8mm of the cutting blade at one end and the root system at the other, the cutting edge being in the middle, it sheers the grass off.
(B)Page3.
A normal blade tends to pluck the grass leaving it frayed, bruised, and of different lengths.
o Always Sharp The action of the blade rotating over the grass disturbs any sand or soil particles, this has an abrasive effect on the metal cutting blade as it passes over, hence keeping the cutting edge always sharp. (C)Page3.
Method of manufacture Cutter blades would be pressed out of one piece of steel, the cutter blade would be folded down the 6 millimetres (6mm) x 40 millimetres (40mm) long; hardened for long wear and safety.
Page 1.
.Benefits There is less drag on the cutting blade so the mower can rev much slower, saving fuel, and omitting less gas into the ozone layer. Also lowering the level of noise pollution.
The cutting edge of the cutter remains sharp, as the wear by grit and sand wears the cutting edge evenly across the surface.
The blade remains sharp at all times, no need for sharpening maintenance as the cutting edge remains "cever sharp".
Cuts onion grass (weed) because of it's cutting action.
Farm use As a rotary grader and weeder blade, used 'on a farm to maintain irrigation channels,, to speed up the flow of water, and save on chemicals to control weeds, reducing pollution in water ways.
