Description
-1A- REVARNISHER OF INCISIONS IN EASY-TO-OPEN CIRCULAR LIDS
DESCRIPTION
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The invention proposed consists of a REVARNISHER OF INCISIONS IN EASY-TO-OPEN CIRCULAR LIDS, of the type of machines which have a mechanism that supplies varnished lids having the easy-to-open incision, means of feeding the cans to the revarnishing device and the revarnishing device itself, as well as the drying kiln of the spray line deposited on the incision.
This invention is characterized by the efficient S"collaboration of magnetic devices that hold the lid while it is being transported and an incision-revarnishing device that allows the lids to pass at a high speed and round-the- 20 clock trouble-free operation.
BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION Varnishing of lids of cans and other easy-to-open type containers is quite well-known, very efficient and usually uses the devices described above.
However, the working conditions, and the fact that work is performed continuously to avoid having to turn off the kiln, gives rise to different problems, the greatest of which is the positioning of the cans on the conveyor belt, which is solved by mechanical means, generally by means of a brake, solution which makes it difficult to increase the cans pass at a faster speed, unless the risk of deviating the spray jets is assumed.
To the knowledge of the applicant, there are no high-speed revarnishers that operate continuously with the collaboration of a very accurate magnetic lid positioning mechanism with another, pistol-based automatic circular revarnishing mechanism, within a conventional revarnished-lid intermittent transport mechanism.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a revarnisher of incisions in easy-to-open circular lids of a machine having a mechanism that supplies varnished lids S0 having the easy-to-open incision, the revarnisher having an intermittently moving conveyor belt, with a stop for revarnishing of the incision, a vertical o convection furnace, for heat-drying and lid cooling devices characterized by the use of magnetic devices that hold the lid while it is being transported, consisting of strips assembled in parallel form and at the sides of the conveyor 1 5 belt, and provided with a large number of notches on the underside, which house the magnets that hold a wide part of the edges of the lid, guided by lateral edges, facilitating rigid and sway-free transport of the lid and perfect positioning for a few tenths of a second, opposite nozzles of a spray gun, of "•the incision revarnishing device, the nozzles joined to a connecting part either of an eccentric arrangement adapted to describe the circle of the lid incision, and means for storing and feeding the varnish to the gun.
Together with the above mentioned, for such purposes of collaboration, the incision-revarnishing device allows the lids to pass at a high speed and round-the-clock trouble-free operation.
2 5 The device spray gun is attached, respectively, at the end to connecting part of an eccentric, as a result of which it describes a circular movement in a complementary figure to the circular incision of the lid.
The part can be attached either to the end of a part connected to the eccentric or else in the centre of a central connecting part between two 3 0 eccentrics. This assembly is assisted by conventional means for storing and feeding the varnish to the gun, a protective varnishing-station screen to avoid mishandling and sensors connected to automatic stop devices.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS A set of drawings have been enclosed with this descriptive report, of which they form an integral part, in order to supplement this description and make it easier to understand the characteristics of the invention. These drawings, which are provided for the purposes of illustration and are by no means of a limiting nature, show *o e* so 6 S S S* S.
-4the following: Figure 1 is an elevation view of the revarnishing area, showing the lid-feeding tower, the lid conveyor belt and the magnetic lid-holding devices, the gun supportbracket, the eccentric and its conventional operating devices.
Figure 2 is a fragmentary cross section of figure 1.
Figure 3 is a plan view of the layout of the magnetic lid-holding devices, in a fragmentary crosssection of the conveyor belt.
S"PREFERABLE EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION S"As can be seen from the description given above, this invention relates to a revarnisher of incisions in easy-to-open circular lids, of the type of machines which have a mechanism that supplies varnished lids having easyto-open incision, an intermittently moving conveyor belt, :e ei with a stop for revarnishing of the incision, a vertical convector furnace, for heat-drying and lid-cooling devices characterized by the efficient collaboration of magnetic devices that hold the lid while it is being transported, consisting of strips assembled in parallel form and at the sides of the conveyor belt and provided with a large number of notches on the underside, which house the magnets that hold a large part of the edges of the lid guided by lateral ridges facilitating rigid and sway-free transport of the lid and perfect positioning for a few tenths of a second, opposite the nozzles of the spray gun of the incision revarnishing device, joined either at the end or centrally to the connecting part either of an eccentric or of two eccentrics, describing the antagonistic circle of the lid incision, as well as having conventional means for storing and feeding the varnish to the gun, a protective varnishing-station screen to avoid mishandling and sensors connected to automatic stop devices.
A fuller description is not given because it is understood that any expert in this field will have enough information to understand the scope of the invention and its derived advantages, and to reproduce it.
It is understood that the materials, shape, size and layout of the parts are liable to change as long as no change is made to the essential features of the invention.
.e The terms used in the description and the sense thereof should always be considered to be of a non-limiting nature.
