Min-Yuan Kuan Spruson Ferguson, Patent Attorneys Level 33 St Martins Tower, 31 Market Street Sydney, New South Wales, 2000, Australia Tool Box The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/us:- 5845 TOOL BOX BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION The present invention relates to a tool box. and more particularly to a tool box with wheels.
Tool boxes are popular with repairman in a factory or garage, and carpenters because they have compartments each holding a specific tool such that the user can easily find the tool he needs.
10 Tool boxes of large size are usually disposed on a wheelbarrow such that thev can be im -ved around easily by the user.
Tool boxes of medium size are seldom disposed on such a wheelbarrow. and are shoved on the ground when the user wants to move e.
it in working. Thus, the tool boxes can be damaged readily, and the tools might fall out from the tool boxes and get lost.
Therefore, wheel are connected a tool box to provide the tool box with mobility as shown in Figs. 6 and 7.
However, the wheels cannot be easily detached from the tool boxes. Thus the wheels take extra space in packing and transportation, i.e. more packing material has to be used, and fewer tool boxes can be held in one container. Consequently, the transportation cost in exporting the tool box products increases a lot.
SUMMARY
It is therefore a main object of the present invention to provide a tool box having detachable wheels.
2 The tool of the present invention comprises a main body provided for holding tools, and detachable wheel set: the detachable wheel set has a supporting member, a spindle, and two wheels as main parts.
The supporting member is fixed to a lower end of the main body by screws, and has two tubular holding members on two ends thereof.
Two ends of the spindle are each held by, and fixed to, a respective one of the tubular holding member.
The wheels are each movably mounted on a respective end of the spindle such that the user can remove the wheels from the tool box 10 according to his demand.
*9 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The present invention will be better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein: Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a tool box of the S. present invention: Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the tool box of the present invention: 20 Fig. 3 is a fragmentary sectional view of the tool box of the present invention: Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the tool box of the present invention: Fig. 5 is a view showing a user pulling the tool box of the present invention; Fig. 6 is a view showing a prior art tool box: and, Fig. 7 is a fragmentary sectional view of the prior art tool box.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS A tool box of the present invention, referring to Fig. 1, comprises a main body 1 and a detachable wheel set 2 as main parts.
The main body 1 can be of medium size or small size, and has inner compartments for holding various car-repair tools, and carpentry, e.g. spanners, screwdrivers and hand drills. The main body 1 further has through holes 11 at a lower end, and a handle (not numbered) at upper end thereof. The detachable wheel set 2 includes 10 a supporting member 21, a spindle 22, two wheels 23, and detaining rings 24 as main parts. The supporting member 21 has screw holes 211.
0 and tubular holding members 212 on two end portions thereof; the e tubular holding members 212 each has a screw hole 213.
Screws 12 are screwed into the screw holes 211 of the connecting member 21, and the through holes 11 of the main body 1 such that the 0* connecting member 21 is fixed to the main body as shown in Figs. 2 and 3.
The spindle 22 is connected to the supporting member 21 with two ends thereof each past into a respective one of the tubular holding 20 member 212 of the supporting member 21. Screws 214 are screwed into the screw holes 213 of the tubular holding members 212 such that the spindle 22 is fixed to the supporting member 21.
The spindle 22 further has annular grooves 221 on two end portions thereof. The wheels 23 are each movably mounted on a respective end of the spindle 22, and are protected from separating from the spindle 22 by connecting the detaining rings 24 to the annular grooves 221 of the spindle 22. The rings 24 are removable.
Thus, the tool box has the detachable wheel set 2 fitted to the main body 1 thereof. When the user wants to move the tool box, referring to Fig. 5, he/she lift the tool box from the handle at upper end thereof with the wheel set 2 contacting the ground; thus, the tool box can be easily moved around by pulling the handle.
When the user does not need the detachable wheel set, he/she can remove the wheels 23 from the tool box.
From the above description, it can be easily seen that the tool box of the present invention has following advantages.
1. WYhen not in use, the wheels can be removed and held inside the tool box such that the tool box does not take extra room in packing and transportation.
9.
2. The supporting member 21 can strengthen the lower end of the tool box, can make the same capable of bearing more weight. So the tool box of the present invention can be used as a stool for a worker to sit on.
3. The user can decide whether to fit the wheels on the tool box according to his/her demands.
