Abstract

The invention concerns a process for manufacturing a tube from plastic. The body of the tube has an outlet aperture smaller in diameter than the tube body itself, and a cap is provided which can be fitted over the outlet aperture to close it. According to the invention, the tube body and cap are connected by a hinge and manufactured in one stage by injection moulding, the tube body undergoing a further process in a second stage to alter its shape.

Description

13-NOU 08:43 MI UON:PATZE MUENCH5N +49 89 228066 MN61 2 2MIS406 SUITU104 PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A CONTAINER MADE OF PLASTIC The invention relates to a process for producing a container with an outlet aperture and with a cap arrangsable above the outlet aperture and sealing the lattar, whereby the body of the container and the cap are joined with each other by a hinge and and manufactured in one work operation by injection molding as a blank, and the blank is subjected to further processing to the finished container.
Such processes for producing a closed container with an outlet opening and with a joined closure are known from WO 90/11938 and GB-A-22 46 317, according to which the pa.'t of the tcontainer with the closing cap and the outlet aperture, said part being joined with a tube part with a smaller diameter than the one of the outlet aperture. said tube part closed at the othor end, is manufactured in one injection operation. Subsequently, the tube part, which is closed at the bottom, is widened by a blowing operation in a shaped body repro4ucing the desired form, whereby cornered, but also conical shapes, among others, are achievable as well.
-1- 13-NOU 00;43 MI UON:PATZE MUENCHEN +49 09 22OG AN:61 a 261540C Said process, because of the necessity of having to make provision for a shaped body for the blowing operation, in the form desired in the given case, is particularly costly when differently shaped containers are to be manufactured.
The problem of the invention is to simplify a proceass for producing containers to the extent that the container including the closure are manufacturable in one single work operation and its form is readily adaptable to different circumstances.
Said problem is solved by a process with the features of claim 1.
Further advantageous developments of the invention are contained in the dependent claims.
In the present case, a container is understood to be any container, in particular also a tube, having at one end an outlet aperture, the diameter of which is smaller than the one of the body of the container, and which is open at the other end for filling. The outlet aperture is sealable by a cap which by means of at least one bridge, is connected with the container body in such a way that it is placeable or -2- Said process, because of the necessity of having to make provision for a shaped body for the blowing operation, in the form desired in the given case, is particularly costly when differently shaped containers are to be manufactured.
It is an object of the present invention to substantially overcome or at least ameliorate prior art deficiencies.
Accordingly, the present invention provides a process for producing a container with an outlet aperture and with a cap arrangeable over the outlet aperture, sealing said aperture, whereby the body of the container and the cap are manufactured in one work operation by injection molding as a blank, joined with each other by a hinge, and the blank is subjected to a further processing to the finished container, characterized in that the blank is manufactured with a tube body with the outlet aperture at one end, with an open end at the other end, whereby the diameter of the outlet aperture is smaller versus the diameter of the tube body, and that the tube body of the blank is subjected to a stretching for lengthening the tube body.
1 In the present case, a container is understood to be any container, in particular also a tube, having at one end an outlet aperture, the diameter of which is smaller than the one of the body of the container, and which is open at the other end for filling. The outlet aperture is sealable by a cap which, by means of at least one bridge, is connected e with the container body in such a way that is placeable or o o o.: oeeo• IN;\LIBd00355:DMB 13-NOU 08:43 MI UON:PATZE MUSNCHEN +49 89 e22e0G AN:61 2 2615486 can take shape decreasing or increasing continuously or alsO by st ps, if need be also in an alternating way.
In case the tube body is treated further, an injection molding mold can be the starting point for a rolatively compact blank containing the finished cap, the final shape of such blank being changeable within a wide range by stretching and/or widenings so that only one single -njection molding mold is required for differont container shapes.
With tubea which, for example, are manufactured directly with a longer tube body, the tube body can be cut to the length desired in the given case. If a blank is produced first of which the tube body is subjected to a form-changing process in a second step, it may be necessary to make provision for a straightening cut, which can be carried out in addition to or also simultaneously as a lengthening cut.
Fig. 1 shows an exemplified embodiment of a tube blank with a swingable cap, in which the cap for closing the outlet aperture is integrated in a sealing ring.
