Invention Title: MUELTI-SPEED DIALING METHOD FOR USE IN KEY PRONE SYSTEM The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/us: MULTI-SPEED DIALING METHOD FOR USE IN KEY PHONE SYSTEM BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method for automatically selecting and dialing the next telephone number registered in a key phone system when a caller performs a speed dialing to one telephone number and at that time the telephone line of a subscriber is busy.
The present application for a method for automatically selecting and dialing the next telephone number registered in a key phone system, is based on Korean Application No. 13049/1995 which is incorporated herein by reference for all purposes.
2. Description of the Related Art *tee With the development of communication technology, there are required various service functions in communication appliances. Further, a speech path of a telephone to be used in offices becomes diversified.
Fig. 1 is a block constitution view of a key phone system applied to the present invention. There are shown in Fig. 1 a terminal 500, a microprocessor 100, a memory part 700, an extended line circuit 200, a switching circuit 400, a tone supplier 900, a Dual tone multi-frequency (hereinafter "DTMF") transmitter 600, a DTMF receiver 800, and a central office line circuit 300. The terminal 500 has a plurality of numeric keys and various functional keys and generates a multi-speed dial key signal. The microprocessor 100 receives the multi-speed dial key signal from the terminal 500 and transmits control signals to each of blocks shown in Fig. 1 in order to control each block. The memory part 700 receives the control signal from the microprocessor 100 and memorizes telephone numbers. The extended line circuit 200 provides a voice band call current to the telephone of the subscriber and also acts as interface between the telephone and the switching circuit 400. The switching circuit 400 receives the control signal from the microprocessor 100 and switches a various kind of tones and speech data. The tone generator 900 generates various tone signals that are supplied to the switching circuit 400. The DTMF transmitter 600 generates a S Multi Frequency Code (hereinafter "MFC") signal under the control of the microprocessor 100. The DTMF receiver 800 analyzes the MFC signal generated from the DTMF transmitter 600 and applies a corresponding digital data to the microprocegsor 100. And, the central office line circuit 300 accommodates a central office line under the control of the microprocessor 100 to form a central office line call loop. The central office line circuit 300 also serves as an interface between the central office line and the switching circuit 400.
Fig. 2 is a control flow chart illustrating a conventional speed dialing.
.2Q Operations of the conventional speed dialing will be explained with reference to Figs. 1 and 2.
First of all, at step 10 the multi-speed dial key signal input from the terminal 500 is applied to the microprocessor 100 through the extended line circuit 200. The microprocessor 100 recognizes the applied speed dial key signal 'and reads a telephone number memorized in the memory part 700 to transmit the telephone number to a called part under transmission of the control signal to the 2 3 DTMF transmitter.
After transmitting the telephone number to the called part, the microprocessor 100 checks, at step 20, the signal transmitted from the tone generator 900. If the telephone line of the subscriber is not busy, the microprocessor 100 forms the speech path at step However, if the telephone line is busy, at step 30 the microprocessor 100 checks whether or not an automatic redial functional key is input by a user. If there is no input, telephone communication is terminated.
However, if the caller wants to perform the automatic redial function, at step 40 the microprocessor 100 again reads the telephone number from the memory part 700 and applies the control signal to the DTMF transmitter 600 to make the telephone number to be transmitted to the called part. At this time, in case the caller hooks off the telephone after hearing his call, the speech path of the telephone line is made at step As mentioned above, in the conventional speed dialing method there arises a problem in that the caller should again perform the speed dialing to the next 25 telephone number after hanging up the telephone, or input the automatic redial key when the telephone line of the •I •subscriber is busy.

According to the present invention there is provided a multi-speed dialing method of a key phone system having a memory part, comprising the steps of: If :\Sunikerp\505)l.',o Isr lillli'17 4 in case that only one telephone number is registered in said memory part so as to perform a dialing, setting an automatic redial functional key for an automatic redial function; accomplishing a speed dialing to said registered telephone number under input of a speed dial key signal; checking whether or not a line is busy through said speed dialing; if said line is busy and there is no the next telephone number registered in said memory part in block form, checking whether said automatic redial functional key is set or not; and if set, forming a speed path by performing said automatic redial.

9 30 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT A key phone system applied to the present invention is constructed like Fig. 1 and its reference numbers are the same as those of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a control flow chart illustrating a multi-speed dialing according to an example of an H:\Sue\Keep\50517.96.doc 19/11/97 4a embodiment of the present invention. In Fig. 3 when a speed dial key signal is input, it is checked whether or not the telephone line of a subscriber is busy. If the telephone line is busy, a speech path is formed under the selective dialing to the V st.

The embodiment of the present invention will be in detail explained with reference to Figs. 1 to 3.
First of all, the,,present invention is subjected to register a plurality of telephone numbers in a memory, part 700 in the block form so as to automatically transmit the plurality of telephone numbers to the subscriber when the speed dial key is input from a terminal 500. Further, the present invention is intended to automatically perform a redial even in case that only one telephone number is registered without registering the telephone numbers in the block form.
f Thereafter, theoperation of the present invention implemented according to the flow chart of Fig. 3 is to apply the speed dial key signal input from the terminal 500 at step 60 to the microprocessor 100 through an extended line circuit 200.
At the moment, the microprocessor 100 recognizes the applied speed dial key signal and reads the telephone number memorized in the memory part 700 to transmit the telephone number to the called part under transmission of the a control signal to the DTMF transmitter 600.

o* generator 900. If the telephone line of the subscriber is not busy, the microprocessor 100 forms the speech path at step 72.
However, if the telephone line is busy, at step 64 the microprocessor 100 checks whether the next telephone number memorized in the block form in the memory part 700 exists or not.
At the point, if there is no the next telephone number memorized, at step 5 74 the microprocessor 100 checks whether or not the automatic redial is set. If set, the microprocessor 100 again reads at step 76 the telephone number from the memory part 700 and then applies the control signal to the DTMF transmitter 600 to make the telephone number to be transmitted to the called part. At this time, in case the caller hooks off the telephone after hearing his call, the speech path of the telephone line is made at step 72.
On the other hand, if there is the memorized telephone number, at step 66 the microprocessor 100 serially selects and reads the next telephone number memorized in the block form in the memory part 700.
Thereafter, the microprocessor 100 checks, at step 68, whether or not the selected and read telephone number is a last one. If the last telephone number, "i the process proceeds to step 60 and the speed dialing is again preformed.
However, if not the last telephone number, at step 70 the microprocessor 100 reads the telephone number serially memorized in the memory part 700 and 15 then applies the control signal to the DTMF transmitter 600 to make the telephone number to be transmitted to the called part. At this time, in case the caller hooks off the telephone after hearing his call, the speech path of the telephone line is made at step 72.
ts of As may be apparent from the aforementioned description, thexpresent §Q invention is to provide to the key phone system a method capable of automatically dialing the next telephone number to be registered when the caller executes the speed dialing to the first telephone number and at that time the telephone line of the subscriber is busy, under such a situation that the speed dial key signal is input. Therefore, in accordance with the present invention, there is not necessary to perform the speed dialing to the next telephone number after hanging up the telephone, and to accomplish a redial.

Claims (2)
1. A multi-speed dialing method of a key phone system having a memory part, comprising the steps of: in case that only one telephone number is registered in said memory part so as to perform a dialing, setting an automatic redial functional key for an automatic redial function; accomplishing a speed dialing to said registered telephone number under input of a speed dial key signal; checking whether or not a line is busy through said speed dialing; if said line is busy and there is no the next telephone number registered in said memory part in block form, checking whether said automatic redial functional key is set or not; and if set, forming a speed path by performing said automatic redial. 20
