Patents Act 1990 Original Complete Specification Standard Patent P/00/011 Invention Title OWER SPA *The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing known to me:- -2- Australian Patent Application No. 40532/95 Geza Laszlo STEGENA SHOWLR SPA The invention relates to improvements in the use of shower for personal hygiene.
Traditional showers discharge water overhead forcing the user to twist and turn to wet and clean parts of the body and only one area at a time.
excessive volume of water used to wash the face, body and limbs. Most of the water from the overhead shower-rose bypasses the body ana runs to the floor waste.
The force of the water pressure created by the traditional shower head is not used to full advantage. There have been many proposals to change the shape or size of the showerrose with much the same result: Citation a/ 2P,243-704-A2, a complex apparatus the essential components are a shower cabin rotating about an axis with multiple tubes feeding nozzles spraying water over the whole body of a person, drawing the water from a sto- 20 rage reservoir heated by elements controlled by a thermostat.
My invention is not reliant on storage reservoir, heating elements, rotating cabin and multitude of pipe distribution network.
The reuse of the water from the storage reservoir is prohibitive to modern hygenic standards.
Dependent claims cover a variety of tube arrangement.
The user has no control over th r.amber of tubes in use at the same time, the whole body is sprayed regardless 30 the need of the user.
The cost must be prohibitive.
Citation b/ US,4809369-A, a portable shower has tubular sections some with holes drilled r:dially to direct water at the body relying on the pressure of the main water supply; For every occasion the tubular section must be disconnected and reassembled to suit the height 8R/- .and need of the user.
P continue page -2a-
I
At best only the centrally located holes will direct the water to the body unless the user stands very close to the tubular section.
Citation c/ 94-223731/27, a simplified version of citation a/ above without a storage reservoir or heating elements.
The user must stand centrally, surrounded by a complex composite half-rings of jointed pipes.
These problems and inefficiences are overcome by this new invention, which provides a shower panel arranged vertically fitted with many nozzles with a centrally located valve to control sections of the shower panel to direct a strong spray of water to the various parts of the body while a variable speed water pump increases the pressure to the desired force and hot and cold water taps control the temperature from the conventional water supply and water heating system.
S. In one form of the invention the shower sop cleanses S" and invigorates any part or all the body at the same 20 time, while soaping or perfuming the body by injecting liouid soap or fragrances into the panel and thus into Sthe spray directed at the body.
-d i, In another form of the invention shower panels may be positioned on opposite sides spraying the body front and back simultaneously. This option may include a side shower panel at ninety degrees to the front panel.
The shower panel may be made of rust proof material. The shower panel may be pressed to form the spray nozzles, shaped to facilitate efficient flow through the nozzles. The number and distribution of the nozzles are to be chosen for maximum cleaning effect.
To assist with the understanding of the invention, reference will now be made to the accompanying drawing, which illustrate one example of the invention.
In the drawing: FIG. I shows one example of the shower spa according to this invention comprising a panel shaped to form multiple nozzles spraying strong horizontal water, while a variable speed water pump increases the pressure to the desired force and the hot and cold water taps control the temperature.
The centrally located valve controls which section of the shower panel to direct a strong spray of water to the various parts of the body.
Liquid soap or fragrance injected into the shower panel combines with the water is forms a soapy spray which is directed at the body.

Claims (2)

1. A shower spa comprising a shower panel fitted with nozzles at levels to suit the human body the highest at face level the lowest at thigh level to accomodate people of different height as well as children each section of the panel turned on individually or simultaneously by the turning of a control valve, the pressure of the water-spray increased by a water- pump to the force required by the user in addition to the pressure of the main water supply, turned on and controlled by hot and cold taps as in a conventional shower.
2. Shower spa of claim 1. fitted with liquid soap and fragrance containers injecting the liquid into the stream of the shower spa by operating a valve on the container. Geza Laszlo STGGENA 6 August 1997 o* e f ABSTRACT A shower spa device is disclosed. The shower spa is a shower spraying water horizontally at increased pressure through a panel extending from head to thigh fitted with multiple nozzles delivering a strong spray to the part of the body to be washed and invigorated. The shower spa assisted by a variable speed pump to boost the pressure of the water supply will massage and clean while standing in the O shower. The supply of hot and cold water will be from conventional shower or 0** bath outlet and the temperature controlled with conventional taps. *9*t The centrally located valve controls which section of the shower panel to direct a strong spray of water to the body. Liquid soap or fragrance can be injected into the shower panel and sprayed at the body S S e0
