Abstract

The invention relates to a process for transmitting data via a heavy current line in which the data are transmitted as a useful signal in a useful band of a useful frequency range and the useful band is at least one order of magnitude higher than the frequency of the low-frequency a.c. voltage on the heavy current line. Interference-free data transmission in the prevailing boundary conditions of a heavy current line is obtained by the invention in that a reference signal is transmitted outside the useful band in the useful frequency range in a narrow reference band and a signal for evaluating and processing the useful signal in the useful band is derived from the reference signal.
