Description

Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION PETTY PATENT EASY BREEZY FLIP OVER GUTTER The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it: 1 EASY BREEZY FLIP OVER GUTTER This invention relates to the process of cleaning domestic and industrial gutters from ground level by the process described in this document. The concept represents an elegantly simple solution to a well-known established problem.
The pivotal system has been developed to change the difficult and often dangerous task of cleaning gutters from roof level. In fact, it is an extremely simple "flip over" system that enables cleaning entirely from the ground level using a simple lever operation with a flexible shaft lifting and securing device that is easy to use for everyone.
For many people the lack of access to a gutter causes not only a psychological stress but in many cases even physical injuries nationwide. These problems are overcome by the present invention, which provides a simple solution that is cost effective, too.
The whole system operates as a "flip-over" gutter with a re-enforced support hinged, front located pivot. The gutter is pre-stressed to reduce flexing. A manual lever from ground, which actions a flexible metal (or alternative material) cable concealed in a conduit, controls it. The lever is attached to the wall of the building and connects to a pivot point located on the gutter itself When activated, the gutter is raised from the rear, causing it to flip upside down. It is positioned the way that it would not effect a roof Sover-hang.
Corners of the gutter are closed at the end of each section and each gutter section operates individually. One down pipe would provide for two gutter sections corners) while inner gutter corners require a three way down pipe with a guard box integrated.
The system operates from a standard "fascia" support. Once the gutter is free of debris, it returns to its upright position and it locks in position with the lever action.
