No. 14914/92 GLOVE TYPE CONDOM This invention relates to an improved condom.
In particular, this invention provides a condom which has an enhanced ability to remain in place once fitted and which is not unnecessarily taut.
BACK GROUND OF THE INVENTION Condoms for use as a means of preventing contraception or the spread of disease have been known for many years.
Traditionally, a condom is formed from an elastomeric impereable Smaterial and is generally tubular, with an open mouth at one end. Such a condom is usually marketed in rolled up configuration and.is fitted to an ercet penis by unrolling the condom, When properly fitted, the condom substantially covers the penis, with the open mouth of the condom located at or near the base of the penis.
STraditionol condoms are of uniform cylindrical cross section, except for perhaps a teat at the closed end, and are normanly made by dipping a correspondingly shaped former into rubber latex or the like, to form .eo* in a sheath having thin walls of uniform thickness.
It is a-notorious fact that traditional condoms often fail to remain in postion and slip off the penis during use. In an effort to over come this, some condoms are manufactured so that when fitted they grip the penis tightly. However, this in itself can cause problems: too taught a condom can give rise to discomfort.
It is an object of this invention to provide a condom which has an enhahced ability to remain on the penis once fitted 'd which is able to accomplish this aim while avoiding unnecessary tautness.
A further problem whith traditional condoms is length.
2rthat when fitted they grip the penis tightly. However, this in itself can cause problems: too taut a condom can give rise to discomfort.
It is an object of this invention to provide a condom which has an enhanced ability to remain on the penis once fitted and which is able 'f to accomplish this aim while avoiding unnecessary tautness.
A further problem whith tradional condoms is length. A condom 6f-a particular diameter will not necessary cover all lengths of penis.
Consequently, it is an object of this invention to provide an improved condom which is capable of covering a greater range of penis lengths than in the case of traditional condoms.
Another problem with traditional condoms arises because the condom must be stretched to fit so tightly around the penis, in order to stay 'in place during use, that there is no frictional movemeht between the walls of the condom and the penis. This is undesirable, since it can reduce sensations which may otherwise be available.
It is an object of this invention, in one preferred embodiment thereof, I Q to provide an improved condom which not only has an enhanced ability to to remain on the penis once fitted while avoiding unnecessary tautness, but also incorporates a bulbous head portion to enhance relative sliding movement between the bulbous head portion and part of the penis fitted with the condom.
fitted with the condom.
BREIF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION.
Accordingly, this invention provides an improved condom of the type Shaving a gener-lly tubular body with an open end a closed end, at the open end, it has a tapering portion located beteen the open end and the bulbous scrotum portion, the bulbous scrotum portion located between the concertina expander portion and the tapered portion, the concertina expander portion, IJ. located between the bulbous scrotum portion, and the smooth body portion, located between the concertina expander portion, and the bulbous head portion, located beteen the smooth body portion and the teat portion which is located between the bulbous head portion and the closed end.
Preferably, the condom of the invention is made of silicon rubber or 4* similar material traditionally used for condom manufacture.
It is intended that in use the condom of the invention will be fitted over Sthe penis and testicles of the user. For this purpose, the bulbous scrotum portion of the condom is intended to accomodate the testicles. The taper b between the bulbous scrotum portion and the open end, retains the ndom, in place once fitted.
The taper portion is intened to encircle the base of the testicles in a sufficiently taut manner to retain the condom on the penis. It has been found that this area at the base of the testicles is relatively insensitive and any relative tautness of this area is of little consequence.
The concertina expander portion. is'intened to ajust to multi size penis The smooth portion is mainly to add a small amount of tautness under the bulbous head portion.
On the other hand the design of the condom of the invention means Sthat it ia. anchored, at thebase of the testicles rather than by tautness ,around the penis shaft.
Consequently, there is no need for the condom to be uncomfortably Iq taut around the penis shaft.
The new configuration of the condom of the present invention permits advantage to be taken of the fact that different regions of of the penis are sensitive to different types of stimulation and hence contribute in different ways to overall erotic stimulation. Since the condom of the Sinvention, does not require that the tubular body be taut over the penis shaft, a larger range of erotic stimulation is made available.
Preferably, the bulbous scrotum portion comprises less than half the L length of the tubular body.
In a preferred embodiment, the condom of the invention includes a bulbous head portion located between the concertina expanding portion and the closed end, for permitting relative movement between thebulbous head portion, and part of a penis fitted with the cond'om.
,L It will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the concertina expander portion permits the condom of the invention to fit a large range of penis lengths. The length of the penis to which the condom of the invention is fitted will determine the degree of expansion of the concertina expander portion.

Claims (6)

1. I claim .An improved condom of the type comprising a generally tubular body with an open end a closed end characterized in that the tubular body has A a concertina expander portion including a pleated cross sectional Spe that permits expansion to accommodate variable penis lenths wm.erein the pleats are substantially disposed along the lateral axis of of the condom; a first enlarged, bulbous scrotum portion located between the concertina expander portion and the open end, the enlarged portion tapering towards the open end to retain the condom in place, and a second enlarged bulbous head portion located between the concertina expander portion and the closed end, for permitting relative movement between the second enlarged portion and part of a penis fitted with the condom.
2. The Condom claimed in claim 1. wherein, it is made of silicon rubber or the likes. 4 e
3. The Condom claimed in claim 1 or 2. wherein in use the Taper Portion is rolled and the Bulbous Scrotum Portion accomodates the testicles.
4. The Condom as claimed in claim 3,wherein the Concertina Expander Portion enables the Condom to expaiid from the range of Zero to 4 or cms. making it a multi size Condom.
The Condom as claimed in claim wherein a Smooth Portion between the expander Portion and Bulbous Head Portion is lesser in width than the Concertina Expanding Portion, and is slightly Pinched at the neck.
6. The Condom as claimed in claim 3. wherein the rolled Taper Portion provides a Robust Anchor Point, for the Condom, behind the testicles. 6.- Typical dimensions for this embodiment of the invention are as follows: in unstretched configuration, taper 21 is 5-6 cm in lengt ulbous portion 20 is 8-10 cm, concertina expander portion 18 4-5 cm, smoothly section 26 is 3- 4 c i'fid'buibous portion 24 is 2- 3cm in length. It will be appreciated that the description of the invention in i Tconnection with the Drawing is for the purpose of illustration only and is not intended to be limiting on the scope pf the invention. i G 0 •o oo *o* *o* o *ol I GLOVE TYPE CONDOM This invention relates to improvements in the design of condoms. As the name suggests the Glove Type Condom, is like a surgical glove, having a wrist, a palm and a finger, a one finger glove, an addition to, the now in use condom. The design is mainly to enhance, its ability to stay on and remove tautness. Previous condoms have always, had the danger of coming off, or bursting, through only having elastic band, tautness/friction to secure them. o The Glove Type Condom is new, in the fact that, the addition to (open end) the finger of a condom, now has a palm, a wrist type opening, which is smaller than the palm, thus restricting movement, back over the palm, holding the glove in place. The safety feature is that, there is no n2ed for tautness on palm or finger, in fact nowhere except on the wrist, which is unsensitive. The security of the Glove Type Condom and its ability, to be fitted without haste, when intercourse is anticipated, is also a help to avoid damage. The Glove Type Condom and the like are made of silicone rubber.
