Abstract

Method of contention resolution upon the simultaneous generation, by several local digital interfaces (A, B, C, D, E) able to correspond with one another, of a digital frame (T) on a local bus (LAN). Each digital interface transmits a frame-header contention module which possesses a high-significance fixed part defining a fixed priority and a low-significance variable part. The binary number which corresponds to this variable priority is decremented by one unit after each failure after subsequent collision. By contrast, that of the master passes, after transmission of the frame of this master, to its lowest priority value (all 1). <IMAGE>
