Abstract

The invention concerns a method wherein the encoder estimates a fundamental frequency (F0) of an audio signal, determines a spectrum of the audio signal by a transform in the frequency domain of a frame of the audio signal, and includes in the digital flow transmitted to the decoder data representing spectral amplitudes associated with multiple frequencies of the fundamental frequency. The spectral amplitude associated with one of the multiple frequencies of the fundamental frequency is a local maximum of the spectrum module in the neighbourhood of said multiple frequency.
