Abstract
Connecting strips (1) with connecting elements for the incoming and outgoing lines are attached to a supporting part (2). The latter is constructed from thin material, in the manner of a duct. The distance between the side limbs (5) of the supporting part (2) is approximately equal to the length of the connecting strips (1) which are placed on the ends of the side limbs. The latter have cut-outs (7) for the attachment of connecting strips, into which latching elements (8) and attachment elements (9) of the connecting strips engage, as a result of which the supporting part (2) is mechanically stabilised. <IMAGE>

The distance between the side members of the supporting part is approximately equal to the length of the terminal strips which are placed on the ends of the side members. The latter have recesses for the fixing of the terminal strips, into which catch elements and fixing elements of the terminal strips engage, as a result of which the supporting part is mechanically stabilized.

According to this, the electric lines are connected to elongated terminal strips, which are fixed at their ends by means of screws on a receiving rack.
Further more another apparatus of similar design is known from German Patent No 28 11 812. The apparatus described therein has terminal strips with connection elements for the incoming and outgoing lines. The terminal strips are fixed on a supporting part of the apparatus. The supporting part is formed from sheet metal in the manner of an u-channel. The spacing 0000 0000 of side walls of the u-channel is equal to the length of the terminal :0 str ips wh Ich are f ixed on hol d Ing tongue s of the s ide wall1s The holding o 0 0 4 0% tongues have recesses for retaining of the terminal strips. The insulator 01.~ 0 A0 15 housings of the terminal strips integrally have catch elem'~nts which engage 0 000 in the recesses.
00 0 C'O It is an object of the present Invention to provide an improved apparatus for the connecting and linking of electric lines.
According to one aspect of the present invention there is disclosed ?0 apparatus for the connecting and linking of incoming and outgoing electric 000000 0 0 lines, in particular in distribution cabinets of telephone systems, the 0 0 00 apparatus having terminal strips with connection elements for the incoming and outgoing lines and the terminal strips being fixed on a supporting part 000 0 of the apparatus, the ,Uupportlng part being formed from thin material in the manner of a U-channel1, in that the spacing of a wall like side members 0 00 of the supporting part being approximately equal to the length of the 0000 terminal strips, the latter being placed on the ends of the side members of 0 0 0 the supporting part, the side members having recesses for the retaining of the terminal strips, insulator of the terminal strips Integrally having catch elements, which engage in the recesses characterized in that free ends of the side members are designed as side strips which are angled off ototwards from the side members parallel to the base of the supporting part in that the recesses lie at least in sections in the region of the side strip in that fixing elements at one end of the terminal strip are of hook-like design and engage behind the associated sidie strips and In that the catch elements at the other end of the terminal strip are designed as catch hooks which engage with a resilient catch lug from inside the side member behind the side piece.
T~ am 495y -3- Preferably in a simple way, the terminal strips may firstly be placed at one end on a side member in such a way that the fixing elements protrude into the recesses. Thereafter the terminal strip is swung towards the second side member until the other end clips in. Due to the positive connection, the supporting part is stabilized in such a way that it can be kept very thin. This makes it possible for the supporting part to be Inexpensively bent out of thin metal sheet. Such a metal sheet can be connected to earth. This makes it possible to earth earthing plates for shock-proof plugs of the terminal strips more simply via the supporting part.
Further, a wiring space for jumper wires to be connected to the terminal strip is formed between neighbouring supporting parts underneath g the side pieces. A wide bearing surface for the terminal strips is 0 00 ^00 produced at the same time. The recess extends substantially parallel to o0 15 the terminal strip. The recesses are easily visible for the person carrying out Installation, so that the fixing elements can be threaded in 0o 0o easily. The hook-like fixing elements engage with corresponding projections behind the side piece over a length which may be greater than the metal sheet is thick. In this way, a secure locking is achieved. The clipping elements on the other side protrude over the side piece and are 0o0000 consequently easily accessible. They can be easily disengaged from the 0000 °o 0 outside.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an S00 0.o exemplary embodiment represented in the drawing.
Figures 1, 2 and 3 show in three different views a distribution 0 0 block, which consists of terminal strips 1, arranged in rows with their o..o longitudinal sides facing, and a supporting part 2 for the terminal strips "00 0 1. To the terminal strips are connected incoming electric lines 3 and outgoing lines 4. The supporting part 2 is of sheet metal bent in the shape of a U. The terminal strips 1 are of elongated shape and are fixed transversely to the longitudinal direction of the supporting part 2 to the side members 5 of the latter. Their free ends are bent off outwards at right angles to form side strips 6. In the region of this bend, recesses 7, into which catch elements 8 and fixing elements 9 of the terminal strip 1 engage, are provided in the side member 5 with the side piece 6. The catch elements 9 and fixing elements 9 are integrally connected to an insulator of the terminal strip 1. The fixing elements 9 are of hook-shaped design and, by swinging the terminal strip I, can be inserted I r Into the Mnpg,495y -4corresponding recesses 7 in such a way that a positive connection is produced between the corresponding side member 5 and the terminal strip 1.
The catch elements 8 at the other end of the terminal strips 1 project in the direction of the side members 5. They have a resilient catch lug which engages from inside behind the side piece. On the side of the catch hook 8, the terminal strip 1 has projections 11, which grip in the shape of a fork around the side member 5 at the recess 7 and thus positively fix it. This is made possible by the recess 7 extending on both sides of the tend for the side strip 6.
