Abstract
Novel alteromonas-type bacteria capable of producing polysaccharides and differing by a certain number of parameters from known alteromonas. The corresponding polysaccharides are useful in forming gels and emulsions and are characterized by certain orginal properties, in particular, their capacity to retain ions in solution and their biological activity.
