Name of Applicant :-MOFAC LIMITED" Address of Applicant 165 Vivian Street, Wellington,- New Zealand q, r Actual Inventor/ Stuart Frederick Leake Address for Service F.B. RICE CO., Patent Attorneys, 28A Montague Street, OF\ Balmain N.S.W. 2041 Complete Specification for the invention entitled: A SUPPORT SUITABLE FOR A VARIABLE ANGLE BASKET DISPLAY The following statement is a full description of this invention including the best method of performing it known to us:i i -2 ii The present invention relates to improvements in and/or relating to means and methods for supporting display or the like receptacles, for example bins, baskets and the like.
The present invention relates to a form of engagement Sbetween a receptacle such as a bin, basket or the like which i is to be supported at each end so as to allow access to goods displayed within its confines which goods are accessible from above. The arrangement is adapted to enable the selective presentation of the basket, bin or the like in a tilted manner.
O Accordingly in one aspect the present invention consist in a display apparatus comprising means providing a pair of 0 vertical support members each having vertically staged 000 supports, j a number of receptacles each capable of containing S articles to be displayed, each receptacle being positionable and/or supported at each end thereof between said support members in use at a particular vertical staged support i controlled as to tilt about a horizontal axis including the support at each end thereof, i C the support members and each receptacle inter-engageable i by stable vertical insertion of one of several tongue members supported by one of the two members into a socket defining member carried by the other, one of said two members through i said inter-engagement supporting the other vertically.
Preferably there is an inter-engagement at each end of the receptacle and preferably the inter-engagement is identical although preferably mirrored.
Preferably said receptacle is a wire basket.

2a Preferably the tongue defining members are carried by the receptacle although in other forms of the present invention the tongue defining members can be upstanding members and thus themselves provide the support for a socket that is carried by the receptacle and slides there onto.
Preferably the receptacle is provided with three tongue members at each end.

Preferably said three tongue members are formed from a single member.
Preferably one of the tongue members centrally supports the receptacle in a horizontal position which each of the flanking tongue members supports the basket in a tilted condition with the greater Vroportion of the top of the receptacle downwardly of the support.
Preferably the arrangement is substantially as hereinafter described.
In a further aspect the present invention consists in combination a support for a plurality of receptacles having provision for engagement in accordance with the present invention, said support comprising two JO upstanding members having a plurality of engaging regions identically positioned at different vertical positions, and at least one such receptacle.
Preferably the arrangement is substantially as hereinafter described.
One preferred form of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 shows an end view of a preferred receptacle in accordance with the present invention showing thereon a plate member defining three downwardly extending tongues, the receptacle itself preferably being in the form of a wire basket although not necessarily so.
20 Figure 2 shows how a folded bracket member welded to a post of any configuration can provide a socket member into which any one of the tongues shown in Figure 1 'is downwardly receivable, Figure 3 shows receptacle of Figure 1 received with one of its tongues in the socket defining member of Figure 2, showing how one of the flanking tongues allows the disposition of the receptacle in a tilt manner with the majority of its upper region downwardly of the engagement, Figure 4 is a similar view to that of Figure 3 but showing how the preferred central downwardly extending tongue can provide for horizontal presentation of the receptacle.
r~ain r c ii Figure 5 shows how instead. the post as shown in Figure Z could. itself carry the tongue defining (shown in Figure 1) but re-versed in direction and a person skilled in the art will appreciate how a downwardly open socket attached to the receptacle could selectively be s.pported from any one of the upstanding tongues, and F'igure 6 shows a perspective view of a support for a plurality of receptacles as shown in Figure 1, it being realised that as shown five baskets can be supported in a variety of different arrays, for example, they can all be supported horizontally, all tilted in one or other of the or there tilt can alternate or vary outwardly.
In the preferred form of the present invention a receptacle I is preferably formed as a wire basket having attached, for example by welding, at each end thereof a plate member 2 defining three downwardly directed tongues 3, 4 and 5. Each of the tongues 3, 4 and 5 is receivable in a socket member 6 provided on a post 7 and the basket or other receptacle 1 can be supported thereby at each end in the manner as shown in Figures 3 or 4. A person skilled in the art will appreciate how neat basket structures which are nestable can be provided which nevertheless can be arrayed in any appropriate maniner from, for example, a support as shown in Figure 6. Obviously the support as shown in Figure 6 cati vary greatly and of course there is no restriction on the number of baskets or other receptacles.
The other form of the present invention described is that described in relation to Figure 5 where upstanding tongue members 8 can if desired be supported from a member 9 and in an equivalent manner to that described in relation to Figure 2. In this form of the invention (which is less preferred) the basket or other receptacle structures I would include a socket defining member receivablo. on the upstanding tongues, It is be1I~eved that an cfrangeInent In accordan~ce wlth the present invention will meet with considerable approval, egpq.cially In cupermrnakets and grocery situations,.
