Description
Australia Patents Act 1990 Complete Specification Standard Specification Carbonated advertising by internal etchings The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me Tt2%h~avoR The Invention relates to the ability to promote and/or advertise a company's name or logo to the general public.
Previously if a company or business had wished for its name or logo to be advertised or on drinking glasses, a pigmented external method was employed.... Although distinct and colorful it served its only one purpose... I, D. Trevor, have thought out, and developed and internal means of reproducing a name or logo for promotions and advertising. Whilst being a translucent opaque image which is visible by viewing externally and a 2n d visual action is created when a carbonated liquid comes in contact with the internal logos etched surface. A unique and continual bubbling affect is created and continues bubbling until the liquid is consumed or emptied or for a period of approx. 1-2 hours.
The method of creating this internal visual is achieved by manufacturing a flexible; polyester (mylar) or spring steel (stainless) stencil of 95-100% accuracy of the desired design and placing this into the inside of a transparent vessel, i.e. Glass, jug etc. Being a flexible stencil it will spring out and conform to the shape and sit tight against the inside surface of the vessel and via high-pressure air, and a form of sand, grit and blasting apparatus with variable nozzle attachments.... A mineral non mineral copperslag, aluminium oxidegrit Is blasted erratically within the glass stencil. Where the imaged area is, the grit will come in contact with the bare glass etch engrave the surface, reproducing the desired Design. The stencil is then removed, the glass washed. The glass is washed to a standard set out by the health authorities guidelines, and is now ready to be used in the hospitality public areas.

Claims (3)
1. By internally re-engineering the surface structure of a transparent vessel an etched or engraved area can be achieved, which is both externally visible internally enhanced when comming into contact with carbonated liquid. This creates an intense bubbling affect from only the etched engraved image area as opposed to the smooth non-image area.
2. By internally reengineering the surface structure of a transparent vessel as stated in claim 1, an existing vessel with external visuals can be enhanced for a carbonated effect as for use in 'point of sale', and media promotions.
3. Again as stated in claim la second method of creating the internal visual, and still maintaining a carbonated bubbling affect is achieved through the use of a laser. The desired design can be re- produced internally by an applied laser technique, CO-2 low powered marking laser thus creating the internally re engineered vessel. As claimed in claim 1, as part of my research development I 'd ask IFM Quality Serviced Pty Ltd to undertake a series of micro biological analysis. This test is for the enumeration of total bacteria levels on reengineered glasses as opposed to standard glasses, also on washed unwashed of both aforementioned glasses. The testing was done to determine weather the etched reengineered glasses contained any of a higher count of residual bacteria as opposed to the standard plain glass with no internal etching. Bacterial and pathogen bacterial counts and/or any other residue which would be considered a health risk. The result of these tests passed the Australian Standards AS1766. 9 o o*o°
