TRv S INVENTION relates to a hydro brush-comb and in particular to a brush-comb with long cleansing fingers for use on hair covered animals and for washing hard surface objects in the form of motor cars, boats etc.

Hair covered animals, and especially long haired animals, generally require a greater amount of care and attention in order to achieve a healthy attracti ,v appearance. The mane and tail of horses and hair of cats and dogs collect burrs, dirt, animal parasi tes, tick,. fleas and the like and become tangled and matted. REroblems of this nature have resulted in time consuming nd 4..orious work for the owner of. the animal. Bathing of, thick coated animals does not always remedy -or solve Sthe problem as the natural oils and lanolin within the coat repel moisture preventing it from cleansihg the skin.

S-need therefore arose for means which could be used not only to groom, an animal but one which would be able to cleanse the coat and penetrate tangled matted hair. One of the objects of this invention is to produce a hydro brus -comb which can serve both these objectives in (C "providing grooming and means of washing beneath the surface of animal hair.

I A further need arose to invent a unii of addition for -means which could be used, upon inte ation with the said hydro brush-comb for the purpose of washing hard surface objects.

Furthermore thi; invention offers a unit of addition to provide a supply line for the purpose of carrying hot air to dry and further groom wet animal hair.

In one form the invention resTi- in a bIch comprising a handle and brush head having a brush face the bristles of said brush being formed at least in part by a plural,ty of rigid hollo open ended fingers projecting from the brush face, the interior of the brush head being hollow to define a mixing chamber and being in communication with the interior of the fingers, the handle having means Sadapted for connection to a source of fluid which is S. connected to the mixing chamber by a passageway and said S' brush head is formed with an aperture opening into said Spassageway or mixing chamber adapted to receive a closure or a reservoir.

Preferably the fluid is water and comes from a pressurised or semi pressurised source. The action of the water and fingers stimulates. an animal and gets down amongst dirt, S* skin scale, fleas, lice etc,. and will be found to be significantly hygienic when cleaning around the tail region of dogs, sheep etc. 9

Preferably the brush-comb can be fitted with a detachable reservoir adapted to be secured with an aperture provided "on the rear of the brush-comb head to thereby feed its -ntents into integral mixing chamber. The contents of te reservoir after mixing with within the saidwater chamber, are released through the hollow finger members to (produce jets of fluid from the orifice of the tapering ingers.

Preferably the hydro brush-comb can be connected to a source of pressurisation such as a hot air blower unit.

The water travelling outwards and through sponge cavity from within, continually cleanses the sponge preventing i ts surface from becoming clogged with dirt and grit.

The brush according to the invention may in its preferred form be a multi purpose unit, which is economical to operate 'and e'asy to manipulate. There are no mechanical or wearing pqrts therefore it is St' maintenance free. The brush provides a cleansing device S, that will penetrate into animal hair to deep cleanse, 'groom,~ medicate and shampoo the animals coat and skin. The br h also has an adaptability' to blow dry a wet EL*i< animal nd can be used for light watering of pot plants, Shangnh baskets and 'rose gardens.
