Description

AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT LETTER BOX TOP o The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: 1 MAIL BOX TOP This invention relates to improvements to brick tower mailboxes.
Existing brick tower mailboxes are inserted in the bricks. When the brickwork is finished a weather cap is set on the top of the tower. The problems with this method are: First the builder must stop doing brickwork to fit the insert. This also involves breaking bricks. Then the builder must start doing brickwork again to complete the tower; Second a separate weather cap must be made or purchased.
These problems are overcome by the present invention, which provides a mailbox that is also the weather cap. One form of the mailbox mimics the most common weather cap which is a concrete square tile. The mailbox is a moulded concrete with a square base that is simply set on top of the tower in the same way that the existing weather caps are.
The mailboxes may be any shape, such as a pyramid, box or half sphere.
The mailboxes may be made of any suitable material, such as metal, wood, concrete or moulded plastic.
To assist with understanding of the invention, reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings which shows an existing mailbox and one example of the Sinvention.
In the drawings: Figure 1 shows an existing brick tower mailbox; Figure 2 shows one example of the mailbox that is also the weather cap according to this invention.
S Referring to figure 1 the existing set up of a brick tower mailbox shows the separate weather cap 1 on the brick tower 2 with the inserted mailbox 3 in place.
"Figure 2 shows the combined weather cap and mailbox 4 on the brick tower
