Abstract

Disclosed is a device for laying foil-like or sheet-like type material, specially strip-like material (34), on the ground (36), comprising a separating device (4) which can be moved along at least the side edge of the material (34) and pressed onto the material from the top, thereby forming a substantially vertical cut (42) on the ground (36), the material being pressed into the cut (42) that has been made, and a pressing device (6) which follows the separating device (4) and presses at least the edges of the cut (42) against the material (34) located in this cut.
