Abstract

The invention relates to a method for vacuum treatment of liquid metals and to a system enabling said method to be carried out. The inventive method improves the opportunities to introduce additives to the melt at the right moment in time and in the right amounts by means of a vacuum lock. The inventive system consists of a vacuum vessel (5) with a vacuum lock (8) above which several respective separately operated feed funnels (11) for the additives are disposed.
