Abstract

The invention concerns a biodegradable composition comprising a starch/protein reaction product which is obtained by reacting a starch with deproteinized protein. The composition optionally contains one or a plurality of substances selected from the group comprising alkenol polymers, fillers, lubricants, plasticizers, synthetic thermoplastic polymers, stabilizers, flame-proofing agents, dyes, nucleating agents, foaming agents, pigments and their mixtures. The invention also concerns articles produced from this composition, in particular candle holders.
