The invention relates to a vehicle
0@ lamp with a transparent light housing, which
is set on a base plate carrying the electrical 000
00 contact facilities and eventual reflectors and 0* 0O S
S 0 66S which is releasably connected with the said
base plate via self-locking elements formed by
00 elastic springy tongues arranged on the base
plate aud engaging with their free end the light *6 0 0O housing.
0.: In the known lamps of this kind the
S elastic tongue effecting the locking between the
light housing and the base plate lies outside on S
the light housing. This arrangement is not only 0S disadvantageous to the outside appearance of the 0@
lamp, but generally also requires a tool in order
to lift off the free end of the elastic tongue uUAMMUNWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA. I fssui fn nme seustralia nafmeIT L e.ii from the wall of the light housing so that the light housing can be released from the base plate. In order to simplify the release of the light pane, the change has been made already to let the outer end of the free tongue stand away from the housing wall like a handle,
C so that the elastic tongue can be lifted off
t- from the light housing without an additional
4 tool. This projecting end of the tongue results
in an increased danger of injury and also forms
recesses in which dirt can settle readily.
The object of the invention is to improve
this releasable locking connection for vehicle
lamps in such a way that the side wall of the
light housing is possibly free of noticeable
"i interruptions or projections respectively, and in
addition a release of the light housing, for instance
for the exchange of the incandescant bulb, can be
carried out simply and easily. This object is S 20 attained in accordance with the invention in that
the springy tongues are arranged inside of the light
housing and engage in a recess of the light housing
with an outward directed projection arranged at the
free end. In this way the light pane has only a
25 small interruption on its outer wall, through which
interruption the projection of the elastic tongue *0*0 protrudes and forms a press button for the release
of the light pane locking.
In an attractive embodiment of the
.nvention idea the projection at the end of the springy tongue is in the form of a button- shaped bulge, which projects into the opening in the light housing and fills this opening.
Here it is advantageous that the outer surface
of the button-shaped bulge forms a plane with
the outer surface of the light housing so that
the side wall of the light boumsing has basically
no projection or depression.
It is expedient to arrange and construct
4 the tongue in such a wa~y that it lies against the
wall of the housing. In this way the springy
tongue can receive a certain pretension so that
always a safe connection between the lig.8ht housing
and the base plate is achieved.
The drawing illustrates an attractive 060@ 0* embodiment of the invention wherein: C C 0*
*SOS Figure 1 shows a center section of the 00 6S 0*
@6 lamp, while em 0OS S Figure 2 a side view of the lamp. 6e S 6O 0S S 20 The shell-shaped light housing 1 made of C e.g. S 0Sg0 transparent synthetic material lies with its edge
2 on a shoulder 3 of the base plate 6 which carries
S0 the reflector 4 and the not illustrated contact SO 0 SO 66 arrangements of the incandescant lamp 5. Ths 6S *e.
6 25 fastening between light housing 1 and base plate 6 *0 @0 00 is attained by a releasable self-locking muap- 6 0O@00@ 6 connection, which is formed by the elastically 0
0 *OSSOO 6 pliable tongue 7 shaped to the base plate 6, which 0e 66 06 said tongue points to the light exit direction ad
protrudes into the light housing and by its button-
Ahaped bulgce 8 lfo rmed to the free endp which
said bulge engages in an opening 9 of the side
wall of the light housing 1. The bulge of the
free end of the elastic tongue 7 is made so
strong and so shaped that it fills the opening
S9 of' the light housing 1. In this way a smnooth
Sside wall of the light housing 1 is obtained
which is free from any sharp-edged projections
or depressions.
In order to release the light housing 1
from the base plate 6 pressu~re is exerted on the
button-shaped bulges 8 of the elastic tongues 7,
so that these are pushed out of the openings 9.
In this way the light housing 1 can be taken off
from the base plate 6.
:The elastic tongues 7 are so arranged
:and made that they lie againsrt the side wall of the iight housing I under pretension.
