Abstract
The construction for variable adjustment of connecting rod length comprises an eccentric(3) with a right hand direction of rotation installed by a plain bearing(2) on the crankshaft journal with a left hand direction of rotation, or vice versa. A gearwheel(6) is fitted on both sides of the eccentric, and the gearwheels each run in an internal toothed gear ring(7) installed on the eccentric on the right and left hand side of the connecting rod(5). The gear rings are rigidly connected to the crankcase(11) by hexagon socket screws(8) to form a rigid resistance in relation to the gearwheels. Through elongated slots the gear rings are mechanically, hydraulically or electromechanically adjustable.
