Abstract

The electronic monitoring and alarm system is used to provide protection against the theft of articles. The system has a voltage controlled oscillator (2) that connects with a power amplifier (3) that outputs a signal to a transmitter (4) to create an electromagnetic field. The field produced interacts with a security hanger element (5) attached to the article that forms part of a resonator circuit. A receiver (6) responds to provide an input to a detector (7) coupled to an alarm (8) and responds to both amplitude and phase changes. If the article is passed through the field with the hanger attached the alarm is triggered.
