Abstract
The aim of the invention is to ensure that the light intensity emitted by a UV-lamp (1) in a degermination reactor maintains a certain value even as the UV-lamp (1) ages and does not fall below a minimum value. To this end, a sensor (7) is allocated to said UV-lamp (1). The light intensity value detected by the sensor (7) is compared with a setpoint value and a minimum value in a comparing device (5). Said setpoint value and said minimum value are stored in a memory (8). By controlling corresponding circuit components (14, 13), the comparing device (5) ensures that when the light intensity measured by the sensor (7) falls below the setpoint value, the electronic control gear (13) which supplies the operating voltage for the UV-lamp (1) is run up until the sensor (7) reads the original light intensity again. If this setpoint value cannot be maintained as the lamp continues to age and the light intensity measured by the sensor (7) falls below the minimum value stored in the memory (8) as a result, an alarm device (18) is triggered by the comparing device (5), by means of the corresponding circuit components (14), and the flow of water is stopped (17).
