Abstract
The invention concerns a device for introducing a small amount of noble earths, in particular cerium, into an internal combustion engine combustion chamber. A container (2, 4), which holds a dry air-permeable filling (50) in the form of fibres and/or powder with or comprising the noble earths, communicates via at least one opening (20) with the atmosphere and via an outlet (52) with an intake line to the internal combustion engine combustion chamber. A tube (34), which is immersed in the filling (50) and communicates with the opening (20), is provided for introducing the intake air into the filling via a filter (48). The invention is characterized in that, on its outer side, the tube (34) is surrounded over at least part of its length by the cylindrical filter (48). There is at least one flow connection (42) through the tube wall between the tube interior (36) and the space between the tube outer side and the filter, this space being sealed.
