Date Feb. 22, 1996A method and apparatus are described for cleaning fabrics and clothes in a liquid medium wherein a vacuum drying step is effected at a pressure ranging from 1.5x103 Pa to 15x103 Pa in the presence of steam which is injected into the drying process at a pressure between 0.8x104 to 8x104 Pa and which is used as a carrier for removing the cleaning liquid.
