Abstract

The invention concerns a mechanical transmission automatic selector varying from an infinite ratio to 1/1, comprising an input plate integral with the input shaft and bearing regularly distributed over a ring centred on the input shaft, first pivots (2) whereon are articulated weights (1), such that any difference in rotational speed between the output and input shafts causes a displacement of the weights (1), increasing the torque transmitted to the output shaft, connecting rods (14) fixed on second pivots (13) integral with the weights (1), and on third pivots (10) articulated about a crankpin (7) of the crankshaft forming the output shaft. The invention is characterised in that each weight (1) elongated in shape, having an outer convex surface (1a) and an inner concave surface (1b), is connected at the front to the first pivot (2) on the input shaft by a double articulation device (2, 11; 12, 15) providing a limited circumferential displacement of the counter-weight (1) relatively to the first pivot (2).
