Abstract

The invention relates to a glidant, especially ski wax, for application onto the base of a winter sport article such as a ski, "big foot", monoski, snowboard and such like. Said glidant consists of at least 80 weight %, especially 90 weight %, octadecane (C18H38), the remainder being made up of a different carbon compound.
