Abstract

A glass forming apparatus of the press-and-blow type comprising a press moulding station (5) and a blow moulding station (18), the apparatus being provided with a transfer means (12) adapted to transfer a hollow blank from the press moulding station (5) to the blow moulding station (18) and to rotate the hollow blank about its vertical axis, and/or provided with a retractable gob deflector (11a) adapted to receive a glass gob from a gob feeder and to deflect the glass gob into the blank mould (5), and/or provided with a blow mould (18) comprising two or more mould parts (18a, 18b) and adapted to open or close by relative linear movement of the two or more mould parts (18a, 18b).
