FIG. 4
CONTAINER ASSEMBLY HAVING LOCKING STRUCTURE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The invention relates to a storage container and, more particularly, to a container assembly
including a container body and a container cover removably disposed on the container body.
2. Description of the Prior Art
A conventional container assembly includes a container body and a container cover. The
container body has an accommodating space for accommodating things such as rice, vegetables,
and/or soup. The container cover may be disposed on the container body to seal the
accommodating space. For effective sealing, the conventional container assembly may further
include a silicone waterproof sealing ring disposed on a bottom edge of the container cover. To
prevent the separation of the container body and the container cover, the conventional container
assembly may further include a locking structure to engage the container body with the container
cover.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention is adapted to provide a container assembly, which uses a simple structure to
achieve effective sealing without a silicone waterproof sealing ring, and uses a simple locking
structure to prevent the separation of the container body and the container cover.
According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a container assembly. The
container assembly includes a container body and a container cover. The container body has an
accommodating space. The container cover is disposed on the container body. The container
body further has a top edge extending outward to form a body upper flange. The container cover
has a bottom edge extending outward to form a cover lower flange. The cover lower flange
overlaps with the body upper flange. The cover lower flange is provided with at least one set of cover engaging portions corresponding to each other. Each of the cover engaging portions includes a cover engaging part. The body upper flange is provided with at least one set of body engaging portions corresponding to each other. Each of the body engaging portions includes a flexible tongue formed by extending outward from the body upper flange and a body engaging part connected to the flexible tongue. The body engaging part engages with the corresponding cover engaging part.
According to another aspect of the invention, the container assembly further includes a
container tray disposed in the accommodating space. The container tray has a top edge extending
outward to form a tray upper flange. The tray upper flange overlaps with the body upper flange.
According to another aspect of the invention, the body upper flange includes a first horizontal
plate formed by extending horizontally outward from the top edge of the container body, a first
vertical plate formed by extending downward from the first horizontal plate, a second horizontal
plate formed by extending horizontally outward from the first vertical plate, a second vertical plate
formed by extending upward from the second horizontal plate, and a third horizontal plate formed
by extending horizontally outward from the second vertical plate. The cover lower flange includes
a fourth horizontal plate formed by extending horizontally outward from the bottom edge of the
container cover, a third vertical plate formed by extending downward from the fourth horizontal
plate, a fifth horizontal plate formed by extending horizontally outward from the third vertical plate,
a fourth vertical plate formed by extending upward from the fifth horizontal plate, and a sixth
horizontal plate formed by extending horizontally outward from the fourth vertical plate. The
fourth horizontal plate overlaps with the first horizontal plate; the third vertical plate overlaps with
the first vertical plate; the fifth horizontal plate overlaps with the second horizontal plate; the fourth
vertical plate overlaps with the second vertical plate; the sixth horizontal plate overlaps with the
third horizontal plate.
According to another aspect of the invention, the tray upper flange includes a seventh
horizontal plate formed by extending horizontally outward from the top edge of the container tray.
The seventh horizontal plate overlaps with the first horizontal plate.
According to another aspect of the invention, the body engaging part is a protruding block, and
the cover engaging part is a groove corresponding to the protruding block.
According to another aspect of the invention, the body upper flange includes a plurality of
body horizontal plates and a plurality of body vertical plates, and each of the body vertical plates is
connected between two adjacent body horizontal plates. The cover lower flange includes a
plurality of cover horizontal plates and a plurality of cover vertical plates, and each of the cover
vertical plates is connected between two adjacent cover horizontal plates. At least one of the body
horizontal plates and the body vertical plates overlaps with at least one of the cover horizontal
plates and the cover vertical plates.
The above and other objectives, features, and advantages of the invention will be better
understood from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the invention
