Abstract

A NOVEL AIR PURIFICATION SYSTEM FOR AIR-CONDITIONERS INCUDING GERMICIDAL FEATURES A system designed for air purification installed in the air-conditioner cabinet's rear end, in order to disinfect and purify the air. The air-borne microorganism is destroyed by the UVC module built in the system to prevent diseases like COVID-19. A customized combination filters removes hazardous gases which may affect the human breathing system. Also, the system provides an in-built activated carbon filter which helps to remove the Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the air. The system generates an alert to indicate the replacement of the UVC lamps and also improves the life of the lamp through slow-start of the circuit compared to the existing technology. The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:
TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present invention relates an in-built air purifying system including germicidal UVC tubes and combination of air filters.
BACKGROUND
[002] Considering the present scenario of Covid-19 which is declared as a pandemic and these diseases is known to spread from one person to another through air. Though there was a significant rise in the cases initially, with preventive measures there leads to significant progress of the people recovering from the diseases.
[003] Though various preventive measures exists such as sanitization self-hygiene through performing hand wash for 15-20secs and social distancing among each other but one needs to explore the fact that the virus easily spreads through air particles especially , through centralized air-conditioners, or the air conditioners in home and other premises.
[004] In summer people tend to have high utility of air-conditioners as the weather is very hot and humid and the virus easily spreads through the air conditioners as all the doors and windows remain closed. Elders who are aged above 60's and the young children aged below 15 are more prone to this diseases as their immunity is less compared to other adults who can combat this diseases through their immunity.
[005] The utilization of aerosol sprays, cleansers, disinfectants, mouth repellents and air fresheners increased exponentially these cause eye, nose and throat irritation, shortness of breath, headaches, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and skin problems, to get rid of these gases.
[0061 In order to control the spread of the diseases through the air conditioners or through air we need more effective preventive measures , so that the virus doesn't tend to spread much over the air particles and prevent the infection among one another.
[0071 US20170023265A1, discloses an invention of air conditioner system having air purifying module, however the invention fails to disclose that the system doesn't provide the any filters to eliminate the hazardous gases such as SOx & NOx.
[0081 KR20070099799A discloses an invention of Sterilization air conditioner in which sterilizing air conditioner which sterilizes bacteria and the like in aspirated air. However the invention fails to disclose that it doesn't prevent COVID-19 spread or filter of hazardous gases.
[009] US8883081B2 discloses, an invention of Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation system in which, modular germicidal light grid system for use inside an air treatment apparatus that has a plenum in which a stream of air is enclosed. However the invention fails to disclose, there is no air purifying module to prevent the COVID-19 micro-organism in the air.
[0010] The above mentioned prior art states that there is a need for a system designed for the air-conditioners to prevent the spread of the diseases through air-purification. Also, there is a need for a system which also eliminate the hazardous gases like SOx & NOx along with Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the air which when absorbed causes health hazardous.
[0011] The present invention addresses the above mentioned short comings of the prior art.
SUMMARY
[00121 The present invention is a system designed for air purification wh install in the air-conditioner cooling chamber ie.e behind the cooling coil next to the blower, to disinfect and purify the air from air-borne diseases spreading microorganisms COVID-19. The UV-C lamps in the system inactivate the micro-organisms which prevent the growth or the spread of the bacteria or viruses in the air. A combination of customized filters , which filters the Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous gases present in the air and provides purified air for better breathing.
[00131 In one implementation, plurality of germicidal UVC lamps (7), upon powering up/glowing up to destroys the bacteria or COVID 19 virus present in the air.
[0014] In one implementation, a choke, a tube regulating circuit cut-off unit.
[0015] In one implementation, a relay, a switch to control the operation of the device.
[0016] In one implementation, combination of customized Sox and Nox filter(13), filters the hazardous gases in the air.

[0018] In one implementation, an indicator, which indicates through an alert if the UVC tubes need to be replaced or any malfunction.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0025] Some embodiments of this disclosure, illustrating all its features, will now be discussed in detail.
[0026] In one implementation, germicidal UVC lamps (7), purifies the air from micro-organisms, bacteria or any virus present in the air to prevent the spread of the air-borne diseases.
[00271 The disclosure herein, a system designed for air-purification in the air-conditioners. The system is built in the air-conditioner cabinet at the rear end which activates the UVC module (104) to destroy the bacteria, virus along with the hazardous gases present in the air.
[0028] In one embodiment, germicidal Ultraviolet lamps (7), install in the cabinet upon powered destroys the bacteria and virus like COVID-19 present in the air. The rays emitted from the UVC lamps are not exposed to humans so as to make sure that there is no risk of UNC rays to humans as they are enclosed within the cooling cabinet. The circuit design provides long life of the UVC lamps (7) through slow start.
[0029] In other embodiment, a combination of customized Sox and Nox filters(13) to filter the hazardous gases in the air , activates when the air conditioner is turned ON. These filters enable to filter the harmful gases present in the air which would affect the human breathing organs.
[00301 In another embodiment , activated carbon filter(14) , removes the Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the air , activates when the air-conditioner is turned ON, to provide purified air without any impurities
[00311 In the present embodiment, the sensing unit (105), sense the working of the UVC lamp and indicates the replacement of the UVC of the lamp through a beep.
[0032] In an exemplary embodiment, when the air-conditioner is turned ON, the system built inside the air-conditioner cabinet activates automatically. The UVC lamps (7) present in the cabinet emits the UV-C rays which disinfect the micro-organisms present in the air inside the room. The sensing unit (105) detects the malfunction of the UVC lamps or the customized filters in the system. The system detects the micro-organism, VOCs and other hazardous gases present in the air upon and destroys the bacteria or virus through UV rays. The customized combination filters and the activated carbon in the system activate in order to remove the hazardous and VOC gases present in the air.
[00331 In other embodiment, the indicator, installed on the display will indicated if there is any malfunction of the filter or replacement of the UVC lamps sends alerts the user with a beep to notify the user along with indication displayed on the display screen of the air-conditioner.
[0034] In another embodiment, the system is designed with a slow start boast, which provides increased UVC lamp (7) life compared to the existing technology.
[00351 Referring to figure 1, illustrates the block diagram in which the power supply (101) provides step down of 24 volt DC power source to the UVC system. The sensing unit (105) activates automatically and detects the function of the UVC module installed in the system. The relay acts as a switch to control the operation of the system.
[00361 Referring to figure 2, illustrates the UV disinfect unit inside the air conditioner cabinet, the customized combination filters , filter the hazardous gases and provides purified air. The activated carbon filters(14), removes the Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the air. Thus, prevents the spread of air-borne diseases.
[00371 In further embodiments, mobile application may be installed to receive the alerts from the system.
[00381 Some of the embodiments include the system to be present as a detachable system which can both be input or can be incorporated into existing systems.
[001] Some of the embodiments may be further upgraded upon the study performed further.

Claims (8)

We claim:
1. A novel system for air-purification in air-conditioner cabinet comprising of, a. a power module (101) including power supply , provides power supply to the system in the air-conditioner UVC in the cabinet; b. a germicidal UVC module (104), install inside the cooling cabinet of the air-conditioner;
c. a connectivity module including a smartphone, to receive notification of the germicidal module ; d. a sensing module(105), detects the malfunction of the UV-C lamps(7) ; and e. an indicator , to indicate the malfunction of the UVC module on the air-conditioner display screen. 2. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein , the germicidal UVC module(104) comprises of, a. Plurality of germicidal Ultra-violet lamps(7), disinfects the micro organisms present in the air ; b. a combination of Sox and No filters(13), filters the hazardous gases present in the air; c. an activated carbon filter (14), removes VOC gases present in the air; d. a stepper motor (8); e. a sensing unit (105), sense the working of the germicidal module; f a condenser coil blowers(9) ; and g. a cooling coil (6).
3. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein , the sensing module (105) comprising of, a. relay, controls operation of the device; and b. a choke, regulating circuit cut-off unit.
4. The system as claimed in claim 1, generates an alert when the sensing module (105) sense any malfunction of the UV-C lamps(7).
5. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein , the power module (101),converts the AC volt from the air-conditioner power supply to DC volts through step-down for the UVC module(104) to operate.
6. The system as claimed in claim 1, operates on slow start mode to improve the life of the UV-C lamps(7).
7. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein, generates an alert, upon malfunction of the filters.
8. The system as claimed in claim 1 wherein , a detachable unit which is fixed in existing air conditioners .
