people around the world through the internet. Social media is a computer program and
website, which allows the people to communicate with each other to create their ideas,
and share their information (such as text, photo, audio, video, or documents, etc.), i.e.
sharing information with others over the internet using a mobile phone, tablet, or
computer. The main advantage of social media is education, which means the students
can learn any topics from social media. It is also used for business, sports, and
entertainment.
But nowadays, the major problem in social media is fake news, which means it spreads
rumors about a particular person, politician, religion, caste, or region, etc. And some web
sites or applications are created by an unauthorized person for hacking other's privacy.
In social media, the fake news will be spread quickly because the users spread the news
without checking whether it is true or not.
Some unwanted links are shared in the WhatsApp account are being shared unnecessarily
such as clicking on this link will get 5GB for free and clicking on this link will get a
laptop for free, etc. This kind of unofficial link is not safe to open because that links may
be created by hackers to hack the user's data. It is very difficult to find out whether the
news coming in social media is fake news or not.
However, previously there are many efforts are made to detect the fake news in social
media. Some of the reference known to us is as follows:

The present invention shows the perspective view of the smartwatch (100), further
detailed descriptions of the present invention are stated here regarding the attached
drawings. Thus, the detailed embodiments of the present invention are disclosed here to
describe the present invention.
In this embodiment of the present invention, as shown in figure 1, which refers to the
perspective view of the smartwatch (100) for detecting the fake news on social media,
which comprises the news scanner (101).
Day by day, users of the smartwatch are increasing gradually because of its features,
which is considered as a wearable electronic device and structured is based on the
computer system. It is also known as a digital watch, which provides many features
moreover timekeeping such as monitoring the user's heartbeat, body temperature,
sending and receiving messages, allows both incoming and outgoing calls, tracking the
activity of the user, etc. The smartwatch has a touch screen display like the smartphone,
which allows the user to perform actions by tapping on the screen.
Here, the news scanner (101) is the main process for detecting fake news, which is done
based on the received or reading news such as text, video, image, audio, or other
documents. Usually, social media advertise and spread many unwanted ads, links,
messages, and etc. So, this news scanner (101) scans the message read by the user on the smartphone, then shares the scanned data, and finally extracts the data in it. After that, the pre-processing method predicts based on the scanned image whether the message is real or not,
In another embodiment of the present invention, figure 2 illustrates the hardware
architecture of the smartwatch (200), which comprises a news scanner system (208) and
a notification system (209).
Smartwatch (100) is a wearable digital watch, which has the features like a computer. An
interconnect (201) is a logical or physical connection between networks or electronic
devices. The architecture of the smartwatch comprises start button (202), Bluetooth
system (203), smart extension (204), user interface (205), DRAM (206), ROM (207),
news scanner system (208), and notification system (209).
Usually, every devices and machine have a start button (202) to turn on/off the devices
and display. It has different shapes like square, circle, rectangle, etc. Bluetooth system
(203) is the technology of short-range wireless communication, which allows the user to
share data without a cable connection. This technology is mainly designed to connect
computers, phones, and other portable devices. In this present invention, the Bluetooth
system (203) connects the smartwatch (100) and smartphone to share the images.
Smart extension (204) of smartwatch (100) is also called as companion smartwatches,
which require a tethered phone to work. It can be IOS compatible smartwatches, android
compatible smartwatches, etc. The user interface (205) is the process of interaction
between the human-computer, and also a method of communication on a webpage,
applications, or device. This includes keyboards, a mouse, display screens, and the
appearance of the computer. It enables users to control the desktop or other electronic devices they are interacting with.
Dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) (206) is the random-access semiconductor
memory category, which is usually used in the main memory of the computer. In the
memory cell, it stores all of the data consisting of a transistor and a tiny capacitor, and
both typically based on metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) technology. Read-Only
Memory (ROM) (207) is the non-volatile category used in electronic devices. After the
manufacture of a memory device, the data stored in ROM (207) is not possible to be
electronically modified.
The news scanner system (208) is the main process of this present invention, which
detects the fake news based on the contents of the photo captured by the scanner. It is
inbuilt within the smartwatch. The user can start the news scanner system (208) when the
user is ready to read articles on social media. The news scanner scans the text messages,
images, videos, and news articles on social media and detects whether the received
message is fake or not. After finding out the fake news, it sends the alert message to the
user of the smartwatch (100) via the notification system (209).
In another embodiment of the present invention, figure 3 illustrates the block diagram of
the present invention (300), which includes the news scanner system (208) and the
notification system (209).
At first, the user should press the start button (202) to start the smartwatch. Once the
smartwatch is on, the further process will start automatically. When the user starts to read
the news or messages on social media, then the user should press the news scanner system
(301) for detecting the news as false or not. The displayed image, video, or data, which
is received in the social media gets scanned and processed by the news scanner system
(208).
The news scanner system (208) identifies fake news based on the content present in the
news article, images, videos, or text messages because the contents or information may
be unofficial or created by an unauthorized person to take revenge on someone or stealing
personal information. This system checks the other official websites to detect whether
the received message is official or not. The system has several steps for detecting the
fake news, such as a connection establishment (302), share the screen image (303) via
Bluetooth, extracting the data (304), pre-processing data (305), analyzing the data (306),
and classification (307).
Connection establishment (302) is the process of connecting both smartwatch and
smartphone through Bluetooth, which is used for exchanging the data between
smartphone and smartwatch. When the user reads the contents in the photos, videos, and
news on the smartphone, then it is interconnected with the smartwatch via Bluetooth.
After that, the scanner scans the information (news, photos, videos, documents, or other
files), and then it shares the screen image (303) of the smartphone for data extracting.
Extracting the data (304) is the process or act of data sources for data storage or data
processing. It involves tools to search via online resources to get information. The
extracted data is then passed to the pre-processing method.
Pre-processing (305) method consists of different processes like the Generation of the
word cloud and Tokenization. Pre-processing the data (305) is the most important process
in the data mining process, which is responsible to prepare data for other processing. This
process removes unwanted data from the received images. So, the upcoming process will
turn into better quality. After that, the processed data is passed to the analyzer.
Analyzing the data (306) means, based on the information obtained, and compares it with
other news and classifying it. It is the process of inspecting, transforming, modeling data,
and cleansing through the goal of determining useful information, supporting decision
making, and informing conclusions. It has numerous facets and approaches, surrounding
diverse methods under different names, and is used in various science, social science,
and business domains.
After analyzing the data (306), it classifies the news as fake (3071) or real (3072). Fake
(3071) news is unofficial news that may be created by hackers to steal other's details, or
to criticize the politicians, celebrities, religion, etc. For example, the person will be
receiving the message as "your mobile number is won 1 million rupees"; enter your bank
account in the given link to receive your money or click the given link to win 1 million
rupees by playing online games, etc. Real (3072) news is official news, which is
announcing by the authorized person in the official websites or accounts. The
classification (307) process classifies the received data as fake (3071) or real (3072)
news.
Finally, the notification system (209) gives the notification to the user via the smartwatch
(100). For example, if the news is fake (3071), the user will be notified that this news is
fake (3071), and if the news is real (3072), the user will be notified that this news is real
(3072).
