FIELD OF INVENTION The present invention relates to a pet bed. The present invention has particular but not exclusive application for a pet bed having a name tag. The patent specification describes this use but it is by way of example only and the invention is not limited to this use.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Pet beds are used for pets' napping during the day and sleeping at night. Normally a pet bed can keep a pet warm, support arthritic joints and prevent calluses. It is recommended that a pet has a pet bed. A pet bed can provide an individual space for the pet. A pet bed can also be brought when travelling, so that the pet feels comfortable and is able to sleep somewhere familiar. Typically a pet bed is easy to wash. For multiple pets, there are typically multiple individual beds. A problem with this is that it is difficult to determine which pet bed is used by which pet. Another problem with this is that it is easy to transfer diseases and parasites if a pet bed is used by a different pet.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to overcome or at least alleviate one or more of the above mentioned problems with pet beds and/or provide the consumer with a useful or commercial choice.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In one aspect, the present invention broadly resides in a pet bed, including a base portion to support a pet, and a name tag releasably attachable to the pet bed. Preferably the base portion is rectangle in shape. Preferably the base portion includes four sides. Preferably each of the four sides defines an edge of the base portion. In another embodiment, the base portion is round in shape. In a further embodiment, the base portion is oval in shape. Preferably the base portion includes a cover. Preferably the cover is removable. Preferably the cover is washable. Preferably the cover is made of a fabric material. In one embodiment, the fabric material includes an antibacterial material. In another embodiment, the fabric material includes an antistatic material. Preferably the base portion includes a mattress and/or a cushion. In one embodiment, the mattress and/or cushion includes a foam material. In another embodiment, the mattress and/or cushion includes a cotton material. In one embodiment, the name tag is releasably attachable to the base portion. Preferably the pet bed further includes a wall portion. Preferably the wall portion at least partially surrounds the base portion. Preferably the wall portion is higher than the base portion. Preferably the wall portion and the base portion define a height of the pet bed. Preferably the name tag is releasably attachable to the wall portion. Preferably the wall portion includes an outer side and an inner side. Preferably the outer side of the wall portion aligns with an outer side of the base portion. Preferably the inner side of the wall portion defines an inner area of the pet bed. Preferably the inner area is adapted to locate the pet. In one embodiment, the inner area is rectangle in shape. In another embodiment, the inner area is round in shape. In a further embodiment, the inner area is oval in shape. Preferably the wall portion includes a cover. Preferably the cover is removable. Preferably the cover is washable. Preferably the cover is made of a fabric material. In one embodiment, the fabric material includes an antibacterial material. In another embodiment, the fabric material includes an antistatic material. Preferably the pet bed further includes a cover portion. Preferably the cover portion covers at least part of the base portion. Preferably the pet is located at a space between the cover portion and the base portion. Preferably the name tag is releasably attachable to the cover portion. Preferably the cover portion is removable. Preferably the cover portion is washable. Preferably the cover portion is made of a fabric material. In one embodiment, the fabric material includes an antibacterial material. In another embodiment, the fabric material includes an antistatic material.
Preferably the name tag is adapted to display information of the pet. In one embodiment, the information includes the name of the pet. In another embodiment, the information includes a picture of the pet. In a further embodiment, the information includes a medical condition and/or treatment of the pet. Preferably the name tag is attachable to the pet bed by fasteners. In one embodiment, the name tag is attached to the pet bed by magnetic material. In another embodiment, the name tag is attached to the pet bed by hook and loop connectors. In a further embodiment, the name tag is attached to the pet bed by snap buttons. In another embodiment, the information is stitched on the name tag. Preferably the name tag is made of a fabric material. In another embodiment, the name tag is made of a metallic material. In a further embodiment, the name tag is made of a plastic material. In another aspect, the present invention broadly resides in a pet bed, including. a base portion to support a pet; a wall portion at least partially surrounds the base portion, and a name tag releasably attachable to the wall portion. Preferably the wall portion is higher than the base portion. Preferably the wall portion and the base portion define a height of the pet bed.
