Abstract
SURGICAL TRIMMER WITH SURGERY TAPE HOLDER
Disclosed is a surgical trimmer with surgery holder which consists of a
trimmer assembly (4), a blade assembly (2), a removable clip (3), a slider
switch (5), a surgery tape holder (1), a LED indicator (6) and a charging
port (7). The present invention includes the upper shaft of the DC motor
(9) inserts in the middle partof the cutter assembly and makes an elliptical
motion, which further facilitates the to and fro motion of the blades
possible. The trimming occurs when the movable and stationary blades
overlap each other, pinching the hair off the skin. The present invention
uses composites plastics with the help of fused deposition modeling
minimizes the cost of trimmer. The present invention is easy to clean
and controls the risk of surgical site infection.

[01] The present invention herein relates to medical devices, more particularly, to a surgical trimmer with surgery tape holder.
[02] In hospitals, a lot of surgical instruments have been used to perform operations on the defected area of the patients. But due to improper use of surgical instruments and a lack of variety of surgical instruments, the patient may suffer from Surgical Site Infections (SSI).
[03] It has been observed in many hospitals, often stich bandages without proper cleaning the area to be treated of patients. So later, due to hair present, the person can, later on, suffer Surgical Site Infection. An earlierstudy shows that patients with shaved incision sites had a 5.6 % rate ofinfection, compared with a rate of less than 1 % among patients whose hair was removed with clippers.
[04] US20080216324A1, discloses a surgical hair trimmer which includes a blade assembly connected to the handle assembly, a release button and a release mechanism. This inventio uses a pair of blades and adapted to operatively couple the drive shaft to the movable blade. However, this invention fails to provide compact design for trimmer.
[051 The above mentioned prior art states that there is a need for a system which provides a low cost surgical trimmer with a holder for surgery taper.
[061 The present invention addresses the above mentioned short comings of the prior art.
[071 The summary as given below.
[08] The present invention is a surgical trimmer with a surgery tape holder and provides low cost solution for hair trimming as well as holdsurgery tape.
[09] In one implementation, the composite plastics uses with fused deposition modelling for manufacturing the surgical trimmer.
[0010] In one implementation, the present invention consists of a trimmer assembly, a blade assembly, a removable clip (3), a slider switch (5), a surgery tape holder (1), a LED indicator (6) and a charging port (7).
[0011] In another implementation, the trimmer assembly includes a trimmer housing configured a circuit board (8), a DC motor (9), a cam (10), and a rechargeable battery (11).
[0012] In another implementation, the blade assembly includes two blades; one is stationery and other is movable oscillates in to and fro motion.
[0013] In another implementation, the LED light indicates the status of charging.
[0014] In one implementation, the blades are made up of stainless steel.
[0015] In another implementation, provides low cost solution.
[0016] The foregoing detailed description of embodiments is better understood when read in conjunction with the attached drawings. For better understanding each component is given a specific number which is further illustrated as reference number for the components used with the figure.
[00171 Figure 1(a), 1(b), 1(c) illustrates perspective view of surgical trimmer of the present invention.
[00181 Figure 2(a), 2(b) illustrates schematic view of surgical trimmer of the present invention.
[0019] Figure 3, illustrates dimensional view of surgical trimmer of the present invention.
[0020] The figures depict an embodiment of the present disclosure for the purpose of illustration and understanding only.
[0021] Some embodiments of this disclosure, illustrating all its features, will now be discussed in detail.
[0022] In one implementation, provides a surgical trimmer with a surgery taper holder and composites plastics with the help of fused deposition modeling uses to minimize the cost.
[0023] The disclosure herein, provides a surgical trimmer to cut hair before surgery and reduces the risk of surgical site infection, and also providessurgery tape holder to keep doctor tape.
[0024] Referring to figure 1(a), 1(b), 1(c) illustrates the perspective viewof surgical trimmer which consists of a trimmer assembly (4), a blade assembly (2), a removable clip (3), a slider switch (5), a surgery tape holder (1), a LED indicator (6) and a charging port (7).
[0025] In one embodiment, the trimmer assembly includes a trimmer housing configured a circuit board (8), a DC motor (9), a cam (10), and a rechargeable battery (11).
[0026] In another embodiment, the blades and DC motor (9) combine to form to trimming section of the surgical trimmer. The upper shaft of the DC motor (9), inserts in the middle part of the trimmer assembly and makes an elliptical motion.
[00271 In another embodiment, the blade assembly includes two blades; one is stationery and other is movable oscillates in to and fro motion.
[00281 In another embodiment, the stationary blade with slots on its structure so that it firmly held on the base.
[0029] In another embodiment, the movable blade is placed on plastic support and is propelled by the upper shaft of the DC motor (9).
[00301 In another embodiment, 2 mm stainless steel blade are used.
[00311 In another embodiment, the removable clip (3) covers the blade assembly and comes in contact with the skin during process of trimming. The structure of clip provides a smooth glide when moves on the skin.
[0032] In another embodiment, the removable clip (3) makes sure that when the blades of the trimmer come in contact with bare skin, they are unable to hold onto them.
[00331 In another embodiment, the back part of surgical trimmerconfigured with the surgery tape holder (1) wherein tape holder refill uses to hold the doctor tape.
[0034] In another embodiment, the lower part of surgical trimmer include the LED indicator (6) indicates the trimmer is in charging mode.
[00351 In another embodiment, the slider switch (5) connects to the ON/OFF switch of the motor and facilitates easy switching between ON/OFF states. The trimmer set to charge when it is in OFF state.
[00361 In another embodiment, the lower part of the surgical trimmer includes the type-C charging port which charges the rechargeable battery (11).
[00371 In another embodiment, the left part includes a slider switch (5)
[00381 Referring to figure 2(a), 2(b) illustrates schematic view of surgical trimmer which includes a trimmer housing configured a circuit board (8), a DC motor (9), a cam (10), and a rechargeable battery (11).
[00391 In another embodiment, the circuit board (8) connects with the DC motor (9) and the cam (10) connects with the blade to oscillate movable blade at a quick pace.
[00401 In another embodiment, when the movable and stationary blades overlap each other, pinching the hair off the skin. The blades are sharp enough, preventing the hair follicles from getting pulled and causing bruiseson the skin. In one elliptic path, the two blades cut when they are the closest toeach other, and therefore, one smooth cut per oscillation.
[0041] In another embodiment, the upper shaft of the DC motor (9) is ovular in shape and places inside the lubricated part of the plastic support of the movable cutter blade. The projection is at the periphery of the shaft to produce the elliptical motion.
[0042] In another embodiment, input wire (12) from charging port connects to the circuit board (8) and connects input wire (13) for DC motor.
[00431 In another embodiment, the overall weight and shape balance the center of gravity and stabilizes the shaft, especially in the case of high RPM.
[0044] In another embodiment, circuitry charges the battery and provides cordless operation.
[0045] In an exemplary embodiment, surgical trimmer consists of a trimmer assembly (4), a blade assembly (2), a removable clip (3), a slider switch (5), a surgery tape holder (1), a LED indicator (6) and a charging port (7). The upper shaft of the DC motor (9) inserts in the middle part of the cutterassembly and makes an elliptical motion, which further facilitates the to and fro motion of the blades possible. The trimming occurs when the movable and stationary blades overlap each other, pinching the hair off the skin.
[00461 Referring to Figure 3, illustrates dimensional view of surgical trimmer.
