Device for establishing a platform for landing goods
Field of the invention The invention relates to a device for establishing a platform for landing goods outside of a deck of a building, the deck being at least partly covered by a ceiling.
Background of the invention During construction of buildings with more than one floor logistics is a big challenge. Getting large amount of building supplies onto the floor where the supplies are needed is challenging and can be time consuming. The most desired way of getting building materials delivered is by lifting it directly of the delivery truck with a crane and set it down where they are needed. Especially when the material is needed several floors up from ground level it can involve a lot of hard labour to get the supplies to the desired location if it cannot be lifted directly to the location.
After the loadbearing construction and the horizontal division (floors) of a building is completed and before the outer walls are in place it is often time to deliver large amount of buildings supplies such as packs of wall plates, tiles, floor plates, bags of O cement etc. to start the internal constructing and finalizing the internal surfaces of the building. It is then a challenge to deliver goods such as building supplies because most of the supplies is needed in between two horizontal division of the building so the wire of the crane or the crane itself will come in conflict with the horizontal divisions of the building, and therefore preventing the crane operator from landing the materials safely on the desired floor. It is therefore need for solutions to safely be able to receive goods, delivered by crane, in between horizontals divisions of a building.
Disclosure of the state of art There are some devices and systems available for landing and transporting goods to a floor with a subsequent floor above. In patent EP2246288 (B1) a solution for transporting goods in through an opening in an outer wall is described. However, the solution from EP2246288 (B1) will not work where there is no outer wall.
Other solutions that can be used when there are no external walls in place often referred to as loading platforms are available. These solutions are large heavy constructions that need to be lifted in place by cranes and requires a lot of both planning and effort to get in place. They are not particular agile and cannot easily be moved when goods are needed on a different location on the same floor.
Objects of the present invention The inventions are intended to help achieve one or more of the following objects.
One object of the invention is to provide a device for establishing a landing platform.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device for establishing a landing platform that can be used to land goods such as building supplies to a floor of a building during construction of the building.
O Another object of the invention is to provide a solution for transporting goods in onto a floor of a building that is below a ceiling.
Another object of the invention is to provide a portable device for establishing a landing platform extending out from a floor of a building.
Another object of the invention is to provide a light and portable device for establishing a landing platform for goods, where the landing platform can extend out from the deck of a floor that is below a ceiling.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device for establishing a landing platform for goods where the landing platform extends out from a deck of a building that is below a ceiling, where the device is neither considered to be lifting equipment nor scaffolding.
Another object is to provide a device achieving one or more of the above-mentioned objects that can be easily disassembled and packed on a euro pallet.
Summary of the invention In one aspect the invention relates to a device for establishing a platform for landing goods outside of a deck of a building where the deck being at least partly covered by a ceiling. The device comprises: a horizontal frame which is rectangular with a longer sideand arranged to partly lie on the deck and comprising a platform section arranged to extend outside the deck, and a floor section adapted to lie on the deck of the building, four adjustable support bodies each connected to or close to one longer side of the horizontal frame on the floor section in one end and extending substantially perpendicular from the horizontal frame, and is arranged to be adjusted in length to force the floor section against the deck by pushing against the ceiling, and two elongated tension supports each stretching from an anchoring point on the platform section to another anchoring point on the floor section via an anchoring O point on one of the adjustable support bodies closest to the platform section, wherein the elongated tension supports are parallel to a longer side of the horizontal frame in a horizontal plane and forming a triangle together with said side of the horizontal frame with a corner in each of the anchoring points.
The elongated tension support can comprise: a first cable, arranged to connect to the platform section in one end, a second cable, arranged to connect to the floor section in one end, a anchoring point on the adjustable support body arranged to connect to the second ends of the first and the second cable, and a tensioning mechanism, arranged to tighten the first and the second cable.
The tension mechanism can be a turnbuckle on each of the cables.
The adjustable support body can comprise an elongated outer part and an elongated inner part, the inner part can be arranged to slide in and out of the outer part in a telescopic manner, the adjustable support body can further comprise a jacking device, the jacking device can comprise a threaded jacking sleeve with at least one longitudinal slit, the jacking sleeve can be slidable arranged on the inner part, a jacking nut can be threaded onto the jacking sleeve, and a jacking bolt can be arranged to be inserted through the longitudinal slits and into a hole in the inner part, wherein the jacking sleeve can be arranged to abut a top of the outer part when the jacking nut is screwed to push on the jacking bolt, thereby lengthening the adjustable support body.
The horizontal frame can comprise roller conveyors for transporting a goods between the platform section and the floor section.

Description of preferred embodiments of the invention The device 1 comprises a horizontal frame 5, and at least one adjustable support body 30. The horizontal frame 5 comprises a platform / platform section 20 that is arranged to extend out from a deck 2 and a floor section 10 arranged to rest on the deck 2 of the building. To avoid the horizontal frame 5 from tipping and falling off the edge of the deck 2 when a load 4 is being placed on the platform 20, adjustable support bodies 30 are used to fix the horizontal frame 5 between the deck 2 and the ceiling 3. In other words, the adjustable support bodies 30 counter the moment caused by a load 4 placed on the platform 20.
The horizontal frame 5 is preferably a frame comprising metal profiles, but it can also comprise plates of metal or other material.
In a preferred embodiment as seen in fig. 1-7 the device 1 is equipped with four adjustable support bodies 30. The horizontal frame 5 is rectangular seen from above with a longer side L, that is the length of the longest side of the rectangular horizontal frame 10. Two of the four adjustable support bodies 30 is connected to the horizontal frame 10 in the two corners furthest away from the platform 20. The other two adjustable support bodies are connected to the horizontal frame 5 along the longest O side, one on each long side, approximately at the middle of the longest sides of the rectangular horizontal frame 5 as seen in fig. 1. The adjustable support bodies extends substantially perpendicular up from the horizontal frame 5.
An embodiment of the adjustable support body 30 will be described. The adjustable support bodies are telescopic and comprises an inner part 31 that slides inside an outer part 32. The inner part 31 having holes 37 for a bolts or splints. A ceiling support foot 33 is attached to the end of the adjustable support body 30 that is to push against the ceiling 3. The inner part 31 can be pulled out of the outer part 32 until the ceiling support foot 33 is close to the ceiling 3, then the bolt can be inserted into one of the holes 37 to prevent the inner part from sliding into the outer part 32. A jacking device 34 can then be used to force the inner part 31 further out of the outer part 32, lengthening the adjustable support body 30 by pushing on the bolt so that the ceiling support feet 33 is pushed against the ceiling 3.
As seen in fig. 7 the jacking device 34 comprises a threaded jacking sleeve 35 with external threads and two longitudinal slits 36, a jacking nut 38, and a jacking bolt 39. The inner part 31 passes through the threaded jacking sleeve 35. The threaded jacking sleeve 35 can be slidable on the inner part 31. The jacking nut 38 is treaded onto the threaded jacking sleeve 35. The jacking bolt 39 is inserted into a hole 37 in the inner part 31 through the longitudinal slit 36 of the threaded jacking sleeve 35. The jacking bolt 39 is inserted in a hole 37 so the jacking nut 38 is between the outer part 32 and the jacking bolt 39. The jacking bolt 39 can in this position be forced away from the outer part by screwing the jacking nut 38. When the jacking nut 38 is screwed to push the jacking bolt 39 away from the outer part 32 the inner part 31, where the jacking bolt 39 is inserted, will move out of the outer part 32 lengthening the adjustable support body 30.
To further strengthen the construction of the device 1 and increase the load bearing capacity of the platform 20 elongated tension supports 40 can be used. Each of the elongated tension supports are in one end connected to an anchoring point 21 on O the platform section 20 and in another end connected to an anchoring point 12 on the floor section 10 and runs via an anchoring point 30.1 on one of the adjustable support body 30 .The elongated tension supports 40 can preferably comprise cables 43, 44 or wire, but metal rods or similar ca also be used. The elongated tension support 40 comprises in a preferred embodiment a first cable 43. The first cable 43 is connected to the anchoring point 21 at the platform section 20 in one end and to the anchoring point 30.1 on the adjustable support body 30 in the other end. The elongated tension support 40 further comprises a second cable 44. The second cable 44 is connected to the anchoring point 30.1 in one end, and to the anchoring point 12 on the floor section 10 in the other end. In this embodiment the elongated tensioning support 40 together with an adjustable support body 30 will form a construction similar to a suspension bridge, where the platform 20 is the deck of the bridge that needs to be supported. The elongated tension support 40 can be seen in fig. 1,2,5 6 and partly in fig. 7.
It is desirable to have a tensioning mechanism 41 to put tension in the elongated tension support 40 to reliefs the structure in the horizontal frame 5 from the bending moment that results from putting load 4 on the platform 20. This tensioning mechanism 41 comprises in one possible embodiment (see fig. 7) a threaded tensioning sleeve 45 with external treads and two longitudinal slits 36, a tensioning nut 46 and a tensioning bolt 47. To operate the tensioning mechanism 41 the tensioning bolt 47 is inserted into a hole 37 in the inner part 31 through the longitudinal slits 36 of the threaded tensioning sleeve 45 as seen in fig 7. The tensioning bolt 47 is inserted in a hole below the tensioning nut 46 which is treaded onto the threaded tensioning sleeve 45. To put tension in the elongated tensioning support 40 the tensioning nut 46 is screwed so that the threaded tensioning sleeve 45 moves upwards while the tensioning nut 46 rests on the tensioning bolt 47. The threaded tensioning sleeve 45 will push on the tension support sleeve 42 which again will move up and put increased tension in the whole elongated tension support 40.
O An alternative to the tension mechanism 41 is to use a turnbuckle on each of the wires 43, 44.
To bring the load that is set down on the platform in onto the deck 2 the platform 20 and the floor section 10 is equipped with rolls 11, so a heavy load can easily be pulled in onto the deck 2. The rolls on the floor section is arranged so that a hand pallet truck can slid its forks in below the load 4 when the load 4 is on the floor section 10.
The device 1 is constructed to be agile and flexible in use. In a preferred embodiment no parts are wider than 80 cm so in a disassembled state the entire device 1 can be placed on a euro pallet. The longest part is 230 cm and therefore within the maximum length of 245 cm which for most freight companies is the limit before the piece of freight must pay for the space of two or more euro pallets.
The device is also constructed to be disassembled so no parts are heavier than 25 kg so a worker can carry them up stairs. Then no complex crane operations are needed to place the device 1 on the deck 2 or floor of the building where it is to be used. The lightweight and flexible constructions is made possible by the suspension bridge design comprising the elongated tension support 40 and the adjustable support body 30. Such a light device would not be achievable without the suspension bridge design. Without the suspension bridge design, the platform would have to be supported by heavy horizontal beams as is the case for existing solutions. The device 1 can support up to 1500kg out on the platform 20 and the whole device are weighing below 250kg.
To ease the installation of the device the connection between the floor section 10 and the platform 20 can be equipped with hinges and a gas damper (not showed in the figures). The device is assembled at a safe distance from the edge of the deck 2 with the platform 20 tilted up at the hinged connection. When the device 1 is to be installed between the deck 2 and the ceiling 3 after assembly it is slided out to the O edge and at least two of the adjustable support bodies 30 are installed and jacked in place to clamp the device 1 against the deck 2. When this is done the platform 20 can be pushed from its tilted position and down in its operational position. The gas damper will allow the platform to slowly descend, and when the job is done, the platform can easily be retrieved and secured in the tilted up position with minimum use of force since the gas damper is lifting most of the load. If two of the adjustable support bodies 30 are connected to the platform 20, then the two adjustable support bodies 30 can be used as a lever to tilt the platform 20 up and down while the installation personnel is standing safely on the deck 2.
Under Norwegian regulation, the device 1 is considered neither lifting equipment nor scaffolding and is therefore not subject to the strict regulations and certification regimes that regulate lifting equipment and scaffolding. The device 1 can be legally installed by personnel without any special certification.
In one aspect the invention relates to a device 1 for establishing a platform for landing goods outside of a deck 2 of a building, the deck 2 being at least partly covered by a ceiling 3, wherein the device 1 comprises: a horizontal frame 5, comprising a platform 20 arranged to extend outside the deck 2, and a floor frame 10 connected to said platform 20 and adapted to lie on the deck 2 of the building, wherein the device 1 further comprises one or more adjustable support bodies 30 connected to said horizontal frame 5 in one end, extending substantially perpendicular from the horizontal frame 5, arranged to be adjusted in length to force the floor frame 10 against the deck 2 by pushing against the ceiling 3.
Further the device 1 can comprise an elongated tension support 40 stretching from an anchoring point on the platform 20 to a anchoring point on the floor frame 10 via a tension support sleeve 42 slidable disposed on one of the one or more adjustable support bodies 30 closest to the middle of the horizontal frame 5.
O Further the device 1 can comprise an elongated tension support 40 comprising: a first cable 43, arranged to connect to the platform 20 in one end, a second cable 44, arranged to connect to the floor frame 10 in one end, a tension support sleeve 42 arranged to be slidable disposed on the adjustable support body 30, and arranged to connect to the second ends of the first and the second cable 43, 44, and a tensioning mechanism 41, arranged to tighten the first and the second cable 43, 44, by pushing the tension support sleeve 42 upwards along the adjustable support body 30.
Further the adjustable support body 30 can comprise an elongated outer part 32 and an elongated inner part 31, the inner part 31 is arranged to slide in and out of the outer part 32 in a telescopic manner, the adjustable support body 30 further comprises a jacking device 34, the jacking device 34 comprises a threaded jacking sleeve 35 with at least one longitudinal slit 36, the jacking sleeve 35 is slidable arranged on the inner part 31 a jacking nut 38 arranged to be treaded onto the jacking sleeve 36, and a jacking bolt 39 arranged to be inserted through the longitudinal slits 36 and into a hole 37 in the inner part 31, wherein the jacking sleeve 35 is arranged to abut the outer part 32 when the jacking nut 38 is screwed to push on the jacking bolt 39, thereby lengthening the adjustable support body 30.

Claims
1. Device (1) for establishing a platform for landing goods outside of a deck (2) of a building where the deck (2) being at least partly covered by a ceiling (3), wherein the device (1) comprises: a horizontal frame (5) which is rectangular with a longer side (L) and arranged to partly lie on the deck (2) and comprising a platform section (20) arranged to extend outside the deck (2), and a floor section (10) adapted to lie on the deck (2) of the building, four adjustable support bodies (30) each connected to or close to one longer side (L) of the horizontal frame (5) on the floor section (10) in one end and extending substantially perpendicular from the horizontal frame (5), and is arranged to be adjusted in length to force the floor section (10) against the deck (2) by pushing against the ceiling (3), and two elongated tension supports (40) each stretching from an anchoring point (21) on the platform section (20) to another anchoring point (12) on the floor section (10) via an anchoring point (30.1) on one of the adjustable support bodies (30) closest to the platform section (20), wherein the elongated tension supports (40) are parallel to a longer side (L) of O the horizontal frame (5) in a horizontal plane and forming a triangle together with said side (L) of the horizontal frame (5) with a corner in each of the anchoring points.

Device according to claim 1, wherein the elongated tension support (40) comprises: a first cable (43), arranged to connect to the platform section (20) in one end, a second cable (44), arranged to connect to the floor section (10) in one end, a anchoring point (30.1) on the adjustable support body (30) arranged to connect to the second ends of the first and the second cable (43, 44), and a tensioning mechanism (41), arranged to tighten the first and the second cable (43, 44).
3. Device according to claim 2, wherein the tension mechanism is a turnbuckle on each of the cables (43, 44).
4. Device (1) according to any preceding claim, wherein the adjustable support body (30) comprises an elongated outer part (32) and an elongated inner part (31), the inner part (31) is arranged to slide inn and out of the outer part (32) in a telescopic manner, the adjustable support body (30) further comprises a jacking device (34), the jacking device (34) comprises a threaded jacking sleeve (35) with at least one longitudinal slit (36), the jacking sleeve (35) is slidable arranged on the inner part (31), a jacking nut (38) threaded onto the jacking sleeve (36), and a jacking bolt (39) arranged to be inserted through the longitudinal slits (36) and into a hole (37) in the inner part (31), wherein the jacking sleeve (35) is arranged to abut a top of the outer part (32) when the jacking nut (38) is screwed to push on the jacking bolt (39), thereby lengthening the adjustable support body (30).
5. Device (1) according to any preceding claim, wherein the horizontal frame (5) comprises roller conveyors (11) for transporting a goods (4) between the platform O section (20) and the floor section (10).
