Abstract
The invention provides a room door unit to prevent the diffusion of unclean air. It can be used
in quarantine hotels to prevent the virus from spreading through the air in the hotel. The
technical solution is: a structure with a chamber feature with a door (outer door) attached to
the existing door (inner door). The structure and the existing door (inner door) defined
chamber structure with two doors. An Ultraviolet irradiation device is installed in the
chamber. When any door is opened and then closed, and all the doors are in the closed state,
the Ultraviolet irradiation device will be turned on to sterilize the air in the chamber. A
control device is installed in the chamber. When a person on one side opens the door on
his/her side, the person on the other side cannot open the door on the other side, ensuring that
the air in the room cannot escape to the outdoors without being sterilized. Switch control
devices are installed in the chamber. When any door is opened, the switch device will cut off
the power of the Ultraviolet irradiation device to prevent Ultraviolet leakage.

[0001] The present invention relates to a room door unit that can prevent the diffusion of unclean air.
[0002] In order to prevent unclean air from spreading to the cleanroom, a structure used is an air shower system.
[0003] The air shower is usually a chamber placed between the cleanroom and the external space. There are two doors (outer door and inner door) on the walls of the chamber, which lead to the external space and the cleanroom respectively. Two doors are not allowed to be opened at the same time. When people or objects need to enter the cleanroom, they first enter the air shower from the outer door, then the outer door is closed, and the cleaning device starts to clean the surface of the person or objects. At the same time, the air in the chamber is also cleaned. Then the inner door is opened to allow the person or objects to enter the cleanroom.
[0004] The air shower system has a complex structure. Moreover, the air shower is not equipped with a device for sterilizing the air in the chamber.
[0005] This makes the air shower system unable to be used for other purposes, especially the use that needs to sterilize the air in the chamber.
[0006] If an ultraviolet device is installed in the air shower system, the air shower structure can be used for other purposes.
[0007] Some scientific research results show that the use of ultraviolet-C (UV-C) to irradiate the air can kill the SARS-CoV-2 virus (the virus that causes COVID-19). The research team of Anthony Griffiths, associate professor of medical microbiology at Boston University, applied a dose of 5mJ/cm2 , resulting in a reduction of the SARS-CoV-2 virus of 99% in 6 seconds. Based on the data, it was determined that a dose of 22mJ/cm2 will result in a reduction of 99.9999% in 25 seconds.
The International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) believes that based on current disinfection data and experience, ultraviolet disinfection technology can play an important role in the multi-level barrier disinfection strategy to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (the virus that causes COVID-19).
[0008] However, there is no precedent for installing an ultraviolet device in the air shower structure.
[0009] In order to prevent the diffusion of unclean air, The air shower structure may be used for other purposes. For example, when dealing with infectious diseases such as Covid-19, it is sometimes necessary to apply quarantine to travelers. This is usually done in hotel rooms. Since guests need to get food and clean up garbage, the room door needs to be opened many times a day. This allows the air in the room to escape into the public space of the hotel and possibly enter other rooms. If the escaping air contains viruses, hotel staff or other guests can be infected. Such cases have happened many times in Australia. every time they lead to lock down which causes huge economic losses.
[0010] If a structure similar to the aforementioned air shower is installed in the hotel rooms, it can prevent the air in the room, which may contain viruses, to escape into the public space or other rooms of the hotel. However, the existing air shower system is complicated in structure and is not suitable for installation in hotels.
[0011] The present invention provides a room door unit that is easy to install and can prevent the diffusion of unclean air. There is no need to dismantle or transform the existing structure of the hotel, and the system can be easily attached to the existing door structure of the hotel. There is no need to modify the existing structure and decoration of the hotel during the installation, use, and dismantling. When the hotels resume normal use, the room door unit can be easily removed.
[0012] The technical solution is: a structure with a chamber feature attached to the existing room door (inner door), chamber structure is defined by four panels and an outer door. They form a complete chamber with the existing room door (inner door).
[0013] An ultraviolet irradiation device is installed in the chamber. If all doors are closed, the action of closing the last door will turn the ultraviolet irradiation device on to sterilize the air in the chamber. The ultraviolet irradiation device will automatically shut down after irradiation continues for a period of time.
[0014] The chamber is equipped with control devices to ensure that when a person on one side opens the door on his/her side, the person on the other side cannot open the door on the other side, ensuring that the air in the room cannot escape before being sterilized. For example: when the food delivery person opens the outer door from the outside, the control device will be activated to obstruct the opening of the inner door from the inner side of the room. At this time, the inner door cannot be opened from the inner side of the room. The food delivery person puts the food in the chamber and then closes the outer door. This action will make the aforementioned control device eliminate the obstacle to the opening of the inner door. At this time, the inner door can be opened from the inner side of the room. When the guest in the room opens the inner door from the inner side of the room, his/ her action will trigger another control device to obstruct the opening of the outer door from the outside of the room. When the guest in the room closes the inner door after taking the food from the chamber, his/her action will make the aforementioned control device eliminate the obstacle to the opening of the outer door. This control device can be mechanical devices or electronically controlled devices. When they are pushed or the supports are removed, the rods or flaps will rotate around the shafts to reach or leave the position that can obstruct the opening of the doors. They will be engaged or disengaged with the corresponding positioning parts to obstruct the opening of the doors or eliminate the obstacle to the opening of the doors.
[0015] Switch control devices are installed in the chamber. When any door is opened, the switch device will be triggered to cut off the power supply of the ultraviolet irradiation device.
[0016] In order to ensure that the air in the chamber can not escape to the public space before it is completely sterilized, the switch device will obstruct the outer door, before the completion of sterilization. The switch device will be powered off and eliminate the obstacle to the opening of the outer door after the ultraviolet radiation is completed. Positioning parts are installed in the chamber. They work with the said switches to prevent the outer door from being opened when the ultraviolet radiation device is working.
[0017] A shelf can be installed in the chamber for placing items such as food.
[0018] The walls of the chamber may be equipped with windows. (The window should have the function of filtering ultraviolet to prevent leakage of ultraviolet from the chamber).
[0019] The beneficial effect of the present invention is that it can prevent unclean air from escaping. And the structure is simple and the cost is low.
[0020] The application of the present invention is not limited to quarantine and isolation, but can also be used for other purposes. For example, in areas affected by bush fire smoke, the present invention can be used to prevent outdoor smoke from entering the room. When it is used for non-quarantine purposes, there is no need to install an ultraviolet device in the chamber.

[0031] In all figures, 600 is a Wall.
[0032] The dotted lines with arrows represent the running tracks of the doors when they are opening or closing.
[0033] Two specific embodiments are given below.
[0034] Figures 1 to 3 are schematic diagrams of the first embodiment of the present invention.
[0035] 100 (Top panel of the chamber), 110A (Sidewall A of the. chamber), 110B ( Sidewall B of the chamber) and 120(Bottom panel of the chamber) defined the frame of a chamber. This frame is attached to the 600 (Wall) or (420 (Inner door frame). There are many ways for this attaching, for example: putting the frame into the door opening, and then inserting the packing materials between the frame and the door hole. For example: using screws.
[0036] 350 ( Sealing strip) is installed on the frame.
[0037] 200 (Outer door) is a sliding door. 400 (Inner door) is the existing room door.
[0038] 200 (Outer door) is equipped with 220 ( Outer door wheels), which mount on the 205 (Outer door tracks).
[0039] The above components together defined a chamber with two doors.
[0040] The chamber is equipped with 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device) (with a timer, and the ultraviolet irradiation device requires electric power).
[0041] The chamber is equipped with 320 (Window) (with the glass or other transparent materials with the function of filtering ultraviolet).
[0042] The chamber is equipped withl15 (Shelf).
[0043] The chamber wall is equipped with 340 (Ventilation filter device).
[0044] 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device) is jointly controlled by 360 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for outer door) and 365 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for the inner door). When any door is opened, the opening action will trigger the 360 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for outer door) or 365 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for the inner door) to partly cut off the power supply circuit of 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device).
[0045] When any door is closed, the closing action will trigger the 360 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for outer door) or 365 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for the inner door) to partly connect the power supply circuit of 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device).
[0046] If both doors are closed, the power supply circuit will be fully connected, and 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device) will be turned on to sterilize the air in the chamber. (and the attached timer starts timing). The sterilization process will continue for a period of time.
[0047] During the sterilization process, 360 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for outer door) , which is driven by electric power, will be engaged with 361 (Positioning part corresponding to 360), obstructing the opening of 200 (Outer door). Ensuring that the air in the chamber cannot escape into public space before is completely sterilized by 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device).
[0048]During the sterilization process, 400 (Inner door) is allowed to be opened. However, if 400 (Inner door) is opened, 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device) will lose power and the ongoing timing will be cancelled. When400 (Inner door) is closed, 300 (Ultraviolet irradiation device) will restart and the timing will start from the beginning.
[0049] When the predetermined time of sterilization is over, the power supply is cut off. This makes 360 (Control switch of ultraviolet irradiation device for outer door) to release 361 (Positioning part corresponding to 360), eliminating the obstacle to the opening of the 200 (Outer door) .
[0050] In order to prevent the two doors being opened at the same time which may cause the air in room to escape during the quarantine period, the chamber is equipped with 500 (Outer door opening control device), which is used in conjunction with 507 (Positioning part corresponding to 500). When 400 (Inner door) is opened, The inner end of 500 (Outer door opening control device) loses support from 400 (Inner door), the gravity causes it to rotate around 505 (Rotation shaft of 500), and its outer end engages with 507 (Positioning part corresponding to 500) to obstruct the opening of the 200 (Outer door) . When 400 (Inner door) is closed, pushing the outer end of 500 (Outer door opening control device) away from 507 (Positioning part corresponding to 500), eliminating the obstacle to the opening of 200 (Outer door) .
[0051]In order to prevent the two doors being opened at the same time which may cause the air in room to escape during the quarantine period,, the chamber is equipped with 510 (Inner door opening control device) which is used in conjunction with 518 (Pushing rod corresponding to 510). When 200 (Outer door) is opened, 518 (Pushing rod corresponding to 510) pushes 510 (Inner door opening control device) to rotate around 515 (Rotation shaft of 510) to reach 410 (Inner door handle), inserting the inner end of 510 (Inner door opening control device) between 400 (Inner door) and 410 (Inner door handle), which will obstruct the opening of 400 (Inner door). When 200 (Outer door) is closed, 518 (Pushing rod corresponding to 510) pushes 510 (Inner door opening control device) to rotate around 515 (Rotation shaft of 510) in a direction away from 410 (Inner door handle) , eliminating the obstacle to the opening of 400 (Inner door).
[0052] Figure 2 shows the positions of 510 (Inner door opening control device) and 518 (Pushing rod corresponding to 510) when 200 (Outer door) is opened.
[0053] Figure 3 shows the positions of 510 (Inner door opening control device) and 518 (Pushing rod corresponding to 510) when 200 (Outer door) is closed.
[0054] Figure 4 is an isometric view of the second embodiment of the present invention.
[0055] The chamber structure and function are similar to the first embodiment.
[0056] The difference from the first embodiment is that 250 (Outer door) is a swing door, so 205 (Outer door tracks) are not needed. 250 (Outer door) and 11OA (Sidewall A of the. chamber) are connected by hinges.
[0057] In compliance with the statute, the invention has been described in language more or less specific to structural or methodical features. It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to specific features shown or described since the means herein described comprises preferred forms of putting the invention into effect. The invention is, therefore, claimed in any of its forms or modifications within the proper scope of the appended claims (if any) appropriately interpreted by those skilled in the art.
