Abstract
A universal mounting point for electronic accessories within recreation vehicles. The device comprises of a mounting point which is semi permanently attached inside the vehicle. Allowing the fitment of one or more electronic accessories. The mounting point is novel as it enables electronic accessories to be readily mounted or disengaged. The mounting point is designed in such a way which means it can stay installed during travel and does not foul on moving parts which are packed away for transit. E.g. sliding beds or pop top roofs which are lowered for transit. The mounting point also facilitates a range of movement which means the accessory may be repositioned for internal or external use whilst using the same mounting point. Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION [0001] The present invention relates to a mounting device for electronic accessories and has been devised to removably mount the electronic accessory and not impede any sliding or moving part of the vehicle which occur primarily during the preparation and duration of transit.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] There are several designs of electronic accessory mounts currently available on the market. Some of which provide the mounting of a TV or other electronic accessory to a desk. These are often seen in office fit outs, however, there remains no facility for these to be functionally retrofitted into a caravan, camper trailer or similar recreational vehicle.
[0003] Existing mounts require either a rigid wall suitable of supporting significant weight or a bench top with an overhang capable of accepting a clamp. These are typical hard to come by in recreational vehicles.
[0004] Existing desk mount clamps are typically tall in dimension when measured from the mounting surface. Recreational vehicles may have components, i.e. beds, walls or other, which slide in and out and or a roof which lowers to prepare for transit. These moving parts typically consume most free space within the vehicle's 'envelope' during transit. This results in significantly more fuel-efficient travel, however, impedes the ease of retrofitting an electronic accessory mount.
-22020100660 29 Apr 2020 [0005] With very limited usable bench space inside recreational vehicles some users choose to set up and pack up their TV or electronic accessory before and after each use. This is labour intensive, and the unit still has to be stored somewhere between uses.
[0006] One of the most rewarding parts of camping in Australia is enjoying the fresh air which is arguably more enjoyable outside the recreational vehicle. Currently available electronic accessory mounts for camping may be provided with two separate mounts, perhaps one which adheres to the external cladding for outside use and another separate mount which is assembled inside the caravan for internal viewing. There remains a gap in the market for a single mount which can stay in its semi-permanent position for its lifetime and allow the electronic accessory to be manoeuvred in such a way which the user can choose to utilise the device either inside or outside the vehicle.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0007] The present invention therefore provides apparatus for mounting an electronic accessory within a recreational vehicle in such a way that the mount can remain semi permanently attached during transit and not impede the fully closed transit position or any associated or otherwise moving parts.
[0008] Preferably, the invention is fastened to available bench space from underneath using suitable fasteners and potentially extra mechanical bracketry for support where required. See Figure 1 [0009] When positioned, the invention remains clear of any sliding beds or moving roofs which require movement for pack up and set up.
[0010] In one form of the invention, the accessory can be manoeuvred in such a way that the electronic accessory can be utilised from various points of the recreational vehicle, both inside and out. This is made possible by the round geometry of the mount.

Claims (3)
1. Apparatus for mounting an electronic accessory to a recreational vehicle, incorporating at least one mechanical fastening point to secure the mount adequately to the vehicle.
2. Apparatus for mounting an electronic accessory to a recreational vehicle as claimed in claim 1. Where in the mount is a peripheral which has geometry to accept standard TV mounting arms of various sizes and facilitate rotational movement about the central axis of the mount.
3. Apparatus for mounting an electronic accessory to a recreational vehicle as claimed in claim 2 wherein the mount accepts and retains a range of mounting arms via an interference fit onto the mount or an assisted fit by use of one or more mechanical fastenings.
