Abstract

IN SIMPLE TERMS, MY CABLE CLIPS DESIGN, WHERE THE CABLE CLIPS HAVE A VERTICAL RECTANGULAR HOLE IN THE SPINE OF EACH CABLE CLIP BEHIND THE FIXING NAIL. THESE CABLE CLIPS WILL COME ON A PLASTIC STRIP, THERE WILL BE 20 -40 CABLE CLIPS ALL JOINED TOGETHER BY THE PLASTIC STRIP THAT IS PUSHED THROUGH THE VERTICAL RECTANGULAR HOLES OF EACH CLIP. THE REASON THIS INNOVATION IS UNIQUE IS BECAUSE YOU NO NONGER HAVE TO GRAB A NEW CABLE CLIP EVERY TIME YOU NEED TO CLIP THE CABLE. YOU SIMPLY GRAP THE WHOLE STRIP, SLIDE THE LAST CABLE CLIP ON THE STRIP APPROX 50MM AWAY FROM THE OTHER CLIPS, PLACE THE LAST CABLE CLIP OVER THE CABLE, HOLD THE STRIP OF CLIPS IN ONE HAND WITH THE LAST CABLE CLIP IN POSITION AND HAMMER IT IN POSITION, ONCE HAMMERED INTO POSITION PULL THE STRIP OUT FROM THE SECURED CABLE CLIP. (and repeat). Tv to

Description

DESCRIPTION,
I HAVE RE INVENTED THE ELECTRICAL CABLE CLIP FOR EASE OF USE AND INSTALLATION FOR ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS, TV INSTALLERS,TELEPHONE AND ETHERNET INSTALLERS.
I HAVE TAKEN THE CLASSIC PVC PLASTIC CABLE CLIP,
I HAVE MODIFIED THE REAR VERTICAL AXIS OF THE CABLE CLIP BY INCORPORATING A VERTICAL RECTANGULAR HOLE APPROX 1.5MM 8MM. (this size will vary on the size of the cable clips).
THE PURPOSE OF THIS HOLE IS THAT THESE CABLE CLIPS WILL BE PACKAGED AND SOLD IN STRIPS COMPRISING OF 20 - 40 CABLE CLIPS PER STRIP, (depending on the size of cable clips).

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS,
I BELIEVE THIS DESIGN IS INNOVATIVE FOR THE REASONS LISTED BELOW.
    1. CLIPPING OF CABLES WILL BE FAR MORE EASIER AND QUICKER FOR THE INSTALLER BECAUSE ALL THE CABLE CLIPS ARE ALREADY ON A SLIDING PLASTC STRIP, (traditional cable clips are sold in jars and as single piece units).
EVERY TIME THE INSTALLER HAS TO NAIL A NEW CABLE CLIP HE MUST REACH FOR HIS POCKET OR TOOL POUCH TO GET A NEW CABLE CLIP, (approx every 300mm).
WITH MY DESIGN THE INSTALLER WILL HAVE 20 - 40 CABLE CLIPS IN HIS HAND HELD TOGETHER BY THE PLASTIC STRIP, (no need to keep reaching for his pocket to get more clips).
  2. 2. THE PLASTIC STRIP THAT THE CABLE CLIPS ARE JOINED TO WILL COME IN A STANDARD LENGTH OF 300MM LONG, (the 300mm strip will work as a guide for the installer as electrical cable should be fixed and secured every 300mm as a guideline).
SO THIS TAKES THE HEADACHE OUT OF MEASURING THE SPACINGS BETWEEN CABLE CLIPS.
  3. 3. WHEN CLIPPING WITH MY DESIGN YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO HOLD THE CABLE CLIP IN POSITION WHEN NAILING THE CLIP, (reducing the risk of workplace injury by hitting your fingers or hand with a hammer).
WITH MY DESIGN THE PLASTIC STRIP HOLDS THE CABLE CLIP IN POSITION, YOU SIMPLY SLIDE THE CABLE CLIP YOU ARE ABOUT TO HAMMER AWAY FROM YOUR HAND AND OTHER CLIPS.
ONCE YOU HAVE HAMMERED THE CABLE CLIP IN POSITION, SIMPLY PULL THE PLASTIC STRIP OUT OF THE CABLE CLIP AND CONTINUE WITH YOUR CABLE CLIPPING.
  4. 4. WITH MY DESIGN, THE INSTALLER WONT BE HOLDING ARE ACTUAL CABLE CLIP WHEN THE CABLE CLIP IN HAMMERED INTO POSITION, YOU GRIP THE EXISTING CABLE CLIPS AND PLASTIC STRIP SO YOUR HANDS ARE SAFELY AWAY FROM DANGER.
  5. 5. BECAUSE MY CABLE CLIPS ARE ATTACHED TO THE PLASTIC STRIP UNTIL THE CABLE CLIP HAS BEEN HAMMERED INTO POSITION, YOU NO LONGER RUN THE RISK OF THE CABLE CLIP FLINGING OFF AND POSSIBLY HITTING YOU IN THE FACE.
(you just simply hammer the cable clip into position, the pull the plastic strip out from the spine of the cable clip).
